There's nothing wrong with what he did. Choosing not to spend your last days catering for a nasty mother who never…
I listed the reasons i disagreed with the writing choice. You're entitled to disagree with my opinion, but I'm also entitled to my opinion. Also, I never once said he needed to spend his last days catering to his mother. Taking her food and water to absolve him self of any responsibility for her for possible death, helps his peace of mind. Again you're not required to agree with my perspective, but you don't need to be rude jist because I shared mine.
*sigh* I really enjoyed the 1st three episodes, but the 4th really took me out of the series. All the drama with the mom in the past and present wasn't needed. Masumi was already a pitiful character in a horrible situation. Adding in all that crap with his mom didn't improve the story in any way. I know that in Asia filial piety is very important, but Masumi's mom was a very bad parent, forcing me to even slightly sympathize with her since we now know she could be starving to death is cruel.
Every moment they spend together going forward will have her potential death lingering in the background. Are they killers for leaving her?Technically, no. But they are sort of accomplices to her death. Ritsu was already unlikeable, but Masumi leaving an old lady to die doesn't him likable either.
So again, I really wish he had never taken the phone call. And yes she is kinda getting what she deserves, but two wrongs don't make a right.
The first episode was fine. It seems like the company is trying even though they have a very small budget which is nice to see. My only problem is Serena. I don't watch competition shows because the judges are like her and she got A LOT of screen time in the first episode. Hopefully the rest of the episodes have less of her and more of Top. That character was the best part of the first episode.
The first episode wasn't perfect but it did a lot of things really well. I'm looking forward to watching the story unfold and I already like Ken and Peter a lot. I also loved how raw and gritty everything felt, this is clearly a mature series which is something I always welcome in BL.
Sex sells and Mandee definitely knows what their audience wants. I'm gonna pass on this one, but I expect the viewers will enjoy the weekly dose of softcore smut.
I'm a bit concerned about how incompetent the hospital staff were, but I'm looking forward to how this develops. I liked both characters in the 1st episode.
I forced myself to watch this in a binge session and I probably should have just not watched. This has so many of my pet peeves in one tedious and short series. I could repeat all of the issues that other commenters have already listed because I agree with them. Instead, I'll just say that I'm sooooooo tired of BLs that have 2 characters as end game who seem to have zero romantic chemistry for the majority of the series, would likely be happier with other people, but end up together because the script demands it.
JYW deserved better than the frigid, bitter, rude, completely self involved SWJ.
Too many companies are making KBLs these days without having any idea what most fans of BL actually want to see and that's becoming increasingly frustrating. I'm not talking about the dead fish kisses, I'm used to those in KBLs. I've seen plenty of Asian BLs with actors and companies who felt comfortable with realistic kisses. I've seen many in Korea as well, but I know the dead fish kisses are the norm so I don't let that ruin a series for me. My issues were with the writing and pacing.
Yet another JBL with strong writing and strong characters with a low rating on MDL. I'm not surprised, I just hope viewers give it a chance and don't focus on the rating. Everyone has wondered what they would do if the world was ending and this show is doing an awesome job tackling that idea in a believable way.
I also love how much I dislike Ritsu, but can't wait to go on this journey with him and Masumi. Both actors are doing a really great job.
I thought the actors looked great together and Dash was a cool workplace, but overall I didn't connect to the characters like I usually do. Onoe's mood swings made him almost unlikeable later in the series and everything that happened in episode 7 undermined the growth and progression of the relationship. It feels like the characters' behaviors fit the events of each episode rather than driving the episode. The ending wrapped everything up very conveniently, but by that point, I was kinda over their relationship.
The show is fine and easy to watch, but not something I'd rewatch.
Yes to everything you said. I'm really starting to wonder if BU was better than this because each week it's harder…
Oh yes we will. I will pull my Christmas outfit back out and sing along with Mariah until the very end. Because of Pond and Phuwin. Their chemistry is what kept me watching this long. But I do think I was more invested in the BP ship before BU than I was in PP before this aired. I can't figure out which one is better or worse, but it doesn't matter. We can survive both!!! I'm just glad that My Beautiful Man and Moonlight Chicken started so there are great BLs to watch while we sleepwalk to the end of this series!
The BL gods just gave us the best undeserved gift possible! Part of me wants to write 10 pages on how much I LOVED the first episode. But the other part of me just can't wait to rewatch it. So I'm keeping this short. Hira and Kiyoi haven't changed a bit, but both have grown up so much 🥰. After one episode, I already know that for me this is the best surprise series of 2023!
Pond and Phuwin are doing SUCH A GREAT JOB that I can't even bother to complain about the writing this week. GMMTV is sooooo lucky to have them, they better get a great project with solid writers for their next series.
