I'm completely frustrated. I've gone out of my way to ignore the flaws in this series because of how much I loved WinTeam in UWMA. I loved them because even though they barely had scenes in UWMA, it seemed like they had a solid relationship off camera. After waiting 3 years to see that relationship, it turns out I was wrong.
In 10 episodes their relationship is still stuck at square 1. After watching countless BLs over the years that made audiences wait until the last episode to see the couple FINALLY become a couple, I expected Between Us to know better than to fall into that same old boring plot. WinTeam sleep together nearly every night, they've met each other's families, they're friends all get along with each other, neither has an obsessed person chasing after them, trying to destroy their relationship and they both have admitted that they love each other. But somehow we ended up on the same boring hamster wheel that has plagued sooooo many average and forgettable series. Why? Why did the writers think this would be what the audience wanted after we waited YEARS for this series?!?! 🤬🤬🤬
I'm sooooooo glad there's finally a Thai GL. And I'm glad Becky and Freen have great chemistry. I just really wish the writing of the series was stronger and Mon and Sam were more likable characters. It's really hard for me to connect with either character because everything feels very superficial and the characters are extremely childish.
Also, if you can't even say the word sex to your partner, you probably aren't ready to have sex with them. You're probably also not ready if it takes drinking nearly an entire bottle of very strong alcohol to get you ready to have sex.
I'll watch this till the end and I'm happy it exists. I just wish it had more substance.
I never read the novel because I heard about what Gu Hai does to Bai Luo Yin. I didn't want to taint my love of the series by reading that. Also, knowing about the things Johnny was alleged to have done just made me uncomfortable. But the series still remains special to me inspite of all of that.
I felt really bad for Nan. Phu's actions made him very unlikeable. I'll probably skip The Promise series. These short films were sad enough for me. But I do think both actors did a good job.
I'm only watching the scenes with little Nong, Diao and Yi because they're so adorable. Small dogs make any series better! I can't wait for Max and Nat to have their own series.
Yes. I know the series has a lot of flaws/ red flags, but it was the series that made me fall in love with BL back in 2017. So I picked that name when I made my account.
I'm not upset about the ending because it's an open ending and it's not a happy ending. I'm upset because it's…
That was my issue too. If this wasn't a live-action remake of a manhwa, I could accept the ending even if it is unsatisfying for me. But I don't see the rationale in changing the ending so much when an ending already exists. As someone who only watched this series because I liked the webtoon, I feel robbed.
This show has such a great cast, but Mollie is definitely my favorite. From the first episode, I loved their vibe. I HATE the cinematographer, but the stuff he was saying felt so realistic. I can only imagine how many great actors have lost out on parts because of people like him. Glad the writers highlighted how truly awful and harmful people like him are in the industry!
The ending of the webtoon was SOOOOO MUCH BETTER. I'm not sure why they changed it. But overall this series was fine, it's just another BL that never lived up to its potential. Feels like that's happening with A LOT of BLs these days *sigh*
Everytime a series raises the bar, for me, it feels like other shows become weaker by comparison. It happened last year with KP and Semantic Error and this show is making it happen again. Everything works so well and feels so effortlessly wonderful. The concept is simple, but it's exactly what I want to see in a BL set in an office. I am really loving this series. With so many office BLs coming out this year, it's going to be hard for something else to top this one.
OMG it's finally happening!!!! The only thing that makes me sad is that it will take forever for the international release of the movie. As of now, I'm counting down the days!
I thought the rating was too harsh until I saw episode 8. This show is laugh out loud bad!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 It starts silly and each King game is the only thing to look forward to. But the last 3 episodes completely earned the low rating. Sib is one of the most unlikeable lead characters I've ever seen. He hurts every person that gets close to him. What were the writers thinking when they made this disaster?!?!?!?!
