The actors and their visuals are on top but most of the time I caught myself staring at my phone while watching. I just finished episode 5, and I'm not sure if I should go on. Is it worth watching further? So far (almost) nothing happened.
Okay... am I getting this right? Is this supposed to make fun of drama cliches? I mean the Secret Garden sit-up scene... and in the preview of the fourth episode you can clearly see a Boys Before Flowers reference. Did I miss anything else?
Feel you. The first ~12 episodes made me super excited... but the hype is gone. I wish for a change of scenery and a little bit more of character depth.
Without any doubt the funniest drama I've ever seen. Not because of the good jokes and comedy... it was just too ridiculous and stupid. From the cinderella doll-up and amnesia to a faked death and kidnapping... we had everything. It was just so bad. Wow. I'm impressed.
Despite all the cliches and the cringe, I got so hooked in the beginning... but the last few episodes were just... boring. It feels burnt out... well, still two episodes to go. I'm not sure if they can relight it.
Honestly... I don't know why everyone says that this is the best Reply drama. 1994 was quite nice (didn't like the ending though), and 1997 was absolutely fantastic. But 1988 lacked the satori charm, the reunion in the present, the strong focus on the boys' nicknames and the usual heavy love triangle plot. Maybe it's just me, but I felt so annoyed by Hyeri's acting. Couldn't take her seriously at all. I know that the main actress of all Reply series has her own quirk. Hyeri however was just loud and behaved over the top. Too bad... I actually love Hyeri, and I really looked forward to 1988 since its my birth year :/ If you want to watch a Reply drama, I would highly recommend 1997... it's definitely – without any doubt – the best out of the franchise.
Depends on the subject, and my mood of course. If I need something to laugh, (of course) I prefer comedy... if my mood's (let's say) stable enough to watch something more serious or tragic, I'll go with second. Right now I really do enjoy family dramas... can't really explain why.
And I came for the fashion and interior design anyway.
I've watched most of those dramas when they aired... and it feels like it was yesterday.
F*CK!

I'm currently watching Five Enough (2016), and it has similar feels. Love it so far.
They were are all in A Thousand Kisses back in 2011.

By the way... wow... what a response xD
