can't believe I fell in love w him 10 years ago π the heirs was the first drama that really hooked me, 15 yo me was watching it after high school and waiting for EVERY NEW EPISODE like it was weed
One last thing: this is why you should never be unconfident. You end up bitter, and you take too much of what isn't yours to make up for all the things you had a right to take, but never took because you were afraid. I've seen this way too much IRL. Don't be shy and don't be unconfident. Know what you can and should have, so you're not greedy at the wrong times because you're going through a mental breakdown and think everyone else around you now deserves to suffer because *you* have been unhappy for a long time.
Also I LOVED the working mom's family dynamic, her children are SO cute participating actively in their parents life (because their parents include them! Especially the father. I thought it was really cute, for exemple when he prepares a surprise for his wife at the end and gives her a present, the children are involved, and the father is acting like a child. It's like they're all children at times, all adults at times. They're on the same level, on the same wavelengths. This is lacking with a lot of families around the world.
I love that this was 100% objective. There's this trend on TV to excuse cheaters and oppressors in general, by implying that their human sides make up for the bad they do. "They made a mistake, but considering what happened to them, it's understandable." This drama, while being totally transparent on what everyone was going through, didn't take the party of the oppressor by trying to make them seem like a victim for going through trials in life just like everyone else. "This happened to this person. Afterwards, this person made this mistake." This is how it was with VIP: they displayed nothing but facts, everyone's facts, and that's what allowed the show to shed light on who really is at fault during cheating (the cheater), without glamorizing it, and how it doesn't make anyone happy in the end.
I loved the subtle things. How a certain character is especially kind to another, but this doesn't necessarily evolve into a full blown sudden romance. Also Jang Nara's acting.. There was a moment where she was happy and smiling with someone, the girl she doesn't like enters the room, and all of a sudden Jung Sun (NaRa)'s facial expression collapses, it took a split second, I thought that was really realistic.
