If it flows with the novel, which it has so far, its gonna be pretty boring with the push and pull until a major event in the middle, then slow again, then a grand finale. Following that, the good middle stuff might happen like eps20-25 ish.

Sometimes I find Xing Zhi odd, but then it fits who he is. The drama helped me understand him better than the novel, where he was just plain weird.

Everyone avoids him since he's literally the highest divine being in existence, so he has this lazy slow flair because really, there's no stimulation from anyone. So he jokes around to get reactions, and people just bend over backwards no matter what, even the emperor with the marriage thing. Then you get ShenLi who challenges him, protects him (who never gets protected!), gets flustered by him, and genuinely liked him. After 30 years of missing her, it makes sense he went to find her first, seek her out, and keep on bothering her. I think Lin Gengxin nailed his expression when he first saw her again and she came towards him.

The previous emperor created powerful monsters to attack the Divine realm, and Shenli's dad is one of the monsters created, and her mom was one of the followers of the "bad side" you can say. Shenli is actually part monster. (thats why the fox demon who died was like "I see." when she slayed him powerfully). Xing Zhi was there a thousand years ago creating and sealing the Abyss, which "killed" her dad and mom, then her master took the baby and raised her (shenli). The drama did play up the antagonistic behaviour from her master, though. Not as drastic in the book, since revealed in the end.

The ML has always been honest even if he's a jokster. He admits he likes toying with her, and that he's a good person. Irrefutable from Xingyun to Xingzhi.

This is where I hope the drama fixes things, because in the novel it was left open ended. God Qing Ye fell in love with a mortal, so he lost his God status and forced to undergo love tribulations with that woman, very tragic each lifetime. Xing Yun finds him as Mr. Gu, and so realized whats happened, and later reawakens some of his memories so he can have a happy ending with her, but we don't know if its Xiao He (lotus demon girl) or Gu's wife.

I loved the fight, the music was spot on. Stopping when she got swallowed and resuming after. Best xianxia fight I've seen in a drama yet~

Well dude loves her, and the useless mortal man Shenli loved is back as a High God that's waaaay cooler than you. He's gotta feel some pressure

Not good or bad, but always stuck with the love tribulation between the same 2 women.

I think it's cuz he's a bit odd, which is how he's written. It's very hard to relate to, I had the same issue reading the novel first time. Once you know what he's like, it's easy to love him

Most likely he doesn't know how he feels. He likes her, but he was a mortal who's dead. In his current existence, never known love

Your feelings are spot on :)

1. Not clearly explained in the novel (he keeps dodging the question when anyone asked), but presumed its hard to cancel an agreed upon peace marriage, and won't look good/no reason to cancel. Two, he and Shenli had a thing, but that was mortal him who is dead, and he thought the emotions would fade/be irrelevant now.
2. Mofang loves her just the same in the novel, the drama has been very true to everything, including all the actions/words and rejection by Shenli.

I do like that it may help us know the ML better. In the book his background and actions weren't well developed enough for me to understand him. Also, I dont remember if they closed the Qing Ye arc well? I hope they fix it in the drama.

It must've hit him hard to force him to confess love when the "useless guy" turned into a Ancient God.

I think the actor is pretty hot though, but yes, not much space between our power couple.
