Just watched the trailer and it is utterly beautiful! Between the costumes, the cinematography, the special effects, the dark undertone and of course the cast utterly speechless! I don't know what i was expecting but it wasn't that to say it blew my expectations would be an understatement!
I guess my one worry if i had any is based off of the few clips we saw i just have a gut feeling that they might make Wen Xiao a damsel in distress kind of character and almost every character that is like that i end up hating. It's obviously too soon to know if this is the case or not we did only just get the trailer but it's just a feeling that i had and would love to be proven wrong. Please just give me my smart FL🙏
Regardless I'm excited either way and i hope that because they gave us the trailer than maybe it will be out sooner than we think 🙏😭

This is also my first drama with the ML and i also think he is doing an amazing job! I hear it does get pretty angsty in the coming episodes so I'm both scared but also excited to see what is coming. I was starting to think when will the crazy stuff start to happen because i was missing it and now i know it's coming. So i think the pacing is pretty good which is really hard to find in dramas now a days.
I think i need to start going into future dramas with no expectations or just lower my expectations, because i went into this drama not expecting to like it or at the very least be meh about it and now it's most likely going to make my top 10 favorite dramas of the year end list.
I was worried that Shen Li was going to be too cold or just too arrogant but she actually is really smart and caring to her people and actually shows emotions outside of being just "cold". One of the reasons i was nervous about her being this "cold" person is a lot of the times (at least the dramas i have seen) they make the character so cold to the point that they have no personality and are even somewhat dumb sometimes. And ya she still has those moments where she acts to rash but the way she learns from those mistakes more than makes up for it. The whole point of life is to live and learn, and she does that beautifully.
I also really love her costumes i was worried that they were going to try and make her dress more masculine but her costumes are very feminine with enough masculine details to really show case her strong aura. Probably some of my favorite costumes i have seen for a FL. Very unique and beautiful.
As for the ML i quite like him. Opposite of Shen Li i was worried that he was going to be weak but i quickly learned that wasn't the case, for spoiler reasons i can't explain further than that but I'm really happy with the route they went with him. I love the way they show him struggling with his new found feelings for Shen Li, given the circumstance life has thrown at him it makes sense. It really shows the complicated emotions we humans face. Love isn't always black and white especially under certain circumstances and they show that beautifully here . And although there was a couple times where i felt like i was getting whiplash i remember that is indeed life.
Overall i am pleasantly surprised by this and will defiantly be watching till the end. And it's safe to say that if this dramas has taught me anything it's that for now on i will be trying to go into future dramas with low expectations. 😅
I think if you watch as it's airing it won't be as bad, it would probably be one or two a day. But i understand why you would be hesitant sometimes longer dramas tend to get draggy, but i would say give it a couple of episodes and then come to a decision!
The recent photos are some of the best visuals i have seen in a long time they look so good!!! It's like my excitement multiplied by a 100 after seeing it. Monday can't come fast enough😩
I'm really hoping the rumors of it airing in early November are true, i can't remember the last time i have been this excited for a drama. Fingers cross we get confirmation in the coming days and or weeks🤞
