I am equally happy and relieved that the show lived up to the hype. The casting already gave those waiting for it to air high expectations, but after being postponed for a year, it had an insane bar to clear for people to not be disappointed by their own built up hopes of what the show would do with its premise and actors. So far, the 8/12 episodes have not disappointed in execution and writing. I'll be too busy to keep watching in real time but hopefully they finish strong (and fingers crossed I don't get spoiled)
FINALLY! I am so sick of seeing Chinese actors and directors being like ✨It's the future✨ because stfu no its not, it's theft and inauthentic. People who say we have to embrace generative AI or get left behind are just a part of the problem. The cons list is infinite, and the pros list is the rich get richer while the average person gets made redundant.
I've heard underwhelming things about him in a lot of things and he was nothing noteworthy in King the Land and I can't really deny the fact that it is really suspicious that he has been cast in so many things despite lacking presence on screen, BUT, I really liked him in The Art of Sarah, idk if that's a hot take or not but it was the first time I feel like I have actually seen him bring a character to life instead of just reciting lines, kind of like the difference between Lee Chaemin in everything before Bon Appetit and him in Bon Appetit (edit: I didn't realise I made this all one sentence but I'm too busy to restructure it rn sorry😆)
for a second I wondered if him appearing in Perfect Crown as a potential suitor for the female lead was a crossover since he is a chaebol there too but it is a different network, director and probably writer so I don't think they are from the same universe. that would've been interesting since both dramas blend modern day and joseon, but in different ways.
Then you need to check the comments section for Our Universe :) that started as 10+ drama with soooo much enthusiasm…
I know that after Hierarchy people felt like the main trio all got their roles from connections but I am one of the many people who feel that Lee Chaemin was excellent in his performance as the King in Bon Appetit, so much so that recasting the OG actor with him is probably what resulted in its global success. It's like he was born to play that role, the same way only Ji Changwook could have been Healer.
Kim Jaewon was pretty good in The Art of Sarah too, I was quite impressed by the growth in his acting since King the Land.
Which leaves Roh Jeong-hui as the only one who has not beat the accusations in the past 2 years since Hierarchy😬

Okay so yeah I can see why that would be a problem. I did find it odd in ep.7 or 8 that we saw so much of her date with the 2nd ML but I didn't really care that much. To be completely honest, I'm a huge fan of Bae Inhyuk so I was so worried that the hate was directed towards him or the baby that had grown on me cause ofc he did he's adorable.
I will say that you can totally tell off screen that he and the baby had the most chemistry because all the positive comments I've seen are talking about the 2 of them and even in interviews, he seems to get along better with the baby than his co-star💀🤣
I feel relieved now that they didn't make him unlikable, so I can finish the show. I don't really care much about the FL actress but I do think her acting was the best, and actually good, in Dear.M.
other than that, I have seen her in Our Universe, Crushology 101 (which in retrospect I only enjoyed because Uni was stressful and I could turn off my brain and escape reality when watching it, tried watching it again and YIKES) and heard bad things about her acting in Hierarchy and The Witch and you know, it gets to a point where you start wondering who she knows in the industry that keeps getting her roles.👀

Oh I have been actively avoiding that page💀.
I was watching our universe in real time and loved it then put it on hold after 8 eps (I do a 50 - 60% watch through on my own when finding shows for me and my mum to watch and then watch them from start to finish months later with her) and I started seeing comments the next week that the show had gone to shit.
Although I don't want it spoiled for me, I am still wondering how it plummeted from 8.3 to 7.6 in a single week. I feel like when I do finish it with her it is probably going to be another dynamite kiss, where its potential and initial audience opinions were so high but by the end, I'll hate all the main characters because of lazy writing choices and blatant character assassination.😭
Firstly, Lee and Minho are excessively common Korean last and first names respectively, resulting in many Lee Minhos other than the 2 most famous ones (the actor and the idol).
Secondly, if the title misled you to believe it was one of the 2 really famous Minhos getting married and that affected you so much that you felt fury upon realising you were baited, you have bigger issues than clickbait.
Breathe in and out and remember that they don't know you exist❤️
I do like this actor though and I'm happy for him☺️
I've never had any intention to watch this show, melodramas aren't my thing, but I've started checking in on the comment section of this page because each time the viewers seem angrier and angrier at how the show is going and it's really amusing to me as a bystander
are they seriously trying to say "it would take so much longer and cost so much more if we wanted to film the same thing for real" because yeah THAT'S YOUR FUCKING JOB and if you can't afford it then you don't do it! WHY SHOULD PEOPLE PAY TO SEE WHAT YOU WEREN'T WILLING TO PAY TO CREATE!!! Why must these ass movies deplete our already dwindling resources and kill off jobs in a dying global economy. IDC about the jobs lost by top actors but what about the b-listers and the extras and the production crew and the writers and the costume department, people who aren't rolling in the wealth their fame has brought them? I cannot believe this person thinks they are some kind of admirable trailblazer doing what no one could.
I’m so curious how Cha Wooseok always knows where Han SeolAh is. Like, he literally just spawns out of nowhere…
I genuinely would not at all be surprised if he placed a tracker on her car the day that they first met (when he was standing by her car and helped her open it when her remote battery died and she thanked him because she didn't know who he was yet). because he tends to show up to locations where her car is also in the vicinity. In retrospect, he probably jammed her remote too just so that she would owe him later.
The visuals and profiles of these two is really worth the wait. April 10th, right?IU is good at picking good scripts…
idk, as a former binge watcher I have personally really come around on watching weekly dramas in real time. I can't get spoiled on anything and I have something, or multiple things if it's a busy month for kdramas, to look forward to twice a week for a month. I have time to digest what I've watched and a show that would've only been with me for 4 days is now on my mind for 4 weeks.
I read the title way too fast and was like "Wait isn't she with Lee Jongsuk?!"😯😂. That would've been a mad way to announce their breakup and promote this drama🤣
Why are these images so HUGE?! I had to scroll for years to get to the comment section lol. Anyway, I look forward to the return of Byeon Woo Seok after Lovely Runner, it's been a long 2 years. I also have high expectations from MBC after the masterpiece (imo) that was Moon River so hopefully the storyline doesn't let me down (not too concerned about the romance, this cast probably has that covered with their acting skills alone)
Why did MDL choose that photo lol, that expression is like "and I'd do it again"😂. Also, there is something so funny to me about the idea that Cha Eunwoo is currently in the military and when he touched base with his family and was like "hey what's new back home" they said "Oh not much...btw you're being investigated for MAJOR tax evasion, but other than that we're all good here"🤣
I've recently discovered that people on here don't always know what they are on about when it comes to rating shows. While I do agree with at least 75% of the ratings on here, over time I've realised that some shows should objectively be rated either a lot lower or a lot higher. E.g. my favourite show from this year, Moon River, is an underrated gem while Undercover Highschool is not bad but definitely overrated. These 2 examples are just my opinion but I think it's an objective fact that you'll miss out on a lot of shows you might personally adore or give some shows more of a chance than they deserved just because you relied too heavily on the ratings like I used to✌️😁
I did a quick search, and it looks like the manhwa has a romance tag, so howcome the drama doesn't? Is this a Judge from Hell situation where like halfway through it airing MDL will add the romance tag?
I can see what you mean but I think in this show the leads are actually both blood relatives of the orphan in…
I was only pointing it out because I recently found out that there have been kdrama remakes of american films so i didn't know if you actually thought this is a remake or just shared a similar premise
