NO CHINESE DRAMA LIKE THIS BEFORE!
WOW....i'm specchless, i've got no words...i started this drama with really low expectations expect for the fact that I'm really familiar with Bai Jing Ting & I little know the female actress...but DAMN, this drama is like NO OTHER...it really surpassed every single thing i didn't incline it to be...the way the storyline is completely different from any single cdrama out there is SUPERB....and lemme just warn u this is not a TIME-TRAVEL drama, it is completely different to that....Firstly, the performance of the one and only Bai Jing Ting here is so Round-of-applause worthy, DAMN, he was amazing..he really captivated me here again after his other drama The First Frost, His character is a person who is A game designer who is logical, calm, and analytical. At first, he seems detached, but as the story progresses, we see his compassion, bravery, and willingness to sacrifice for others. He brings strategy and reason to the situation, but also learns to trust and care deeply for those around him, and BAI JING TING totally delivered that role sm...The next character is our smart female lead (idk her irl name, sry), i've seen her in a drama called A little thing called first love, and i really fell in love with her there, though her characters are completely different to here, but she really impressed me with her level of levelheaded yet emphative character, her character is a college student who is emotional, determined, and morally driven. Initially frightened by the time loop, she grows stronger with each reset. Her empathy and sense of justice push her to keep going—not just to escape the loop, but to save lives, even strangers'. She’s the emotional heart of the story. She also delivers a spectacular performances---moreover the chemistry between her & Bai Jing Ting was so amazing, i really enjoyed it....
And to the SUPPORTING CHARACTERS,i.e the people on the bus with the two leads..
Bus Passengers
Each passenger has a unique backstory and role in the loop. Some are red herrings, while others reflect real-life struggles—like grief, guilt, or anger. Notable ones include:
The woman with the incense – reveals a tragic personal story tied to the loop's core mystery.
The student and the man with the phone – initially seem suspicious, but add emotional depth and tension.
There are also police officers who also add depth as they go forward to be helping them in different time loops: Zhang Cheng
A police officer in charge of the investigation. Initially skeptical of Li Shiqing and Xiao Heyun’s claims, he represents the rational outsider. Over time, he becomes more open-minded and determined to uncover the truth. His persistence and sense of justice show the strength of the legal system when paired with compassion; and Du Ju who is Zhang Cheng’s colleague and fellow officer. While more cautious and rule-bound, Du Ju provides a realistic, grounded perspective. He plays a supportive role in balancing doubt with duty and represents the system’s slow but steady progress toward the truth.
The Bomber(s)
No spoilers, but the antagonist’s motivations are rooted in personal trauma and loss, raising complex questions about justice, pain, and morality. The drama doesn’t just villainize them—it gives insight into what led them down that path.
To conclude then, Reset is a tightly written, thought-provoking drama that goes beyond its time loop premise to explore deeper themes like justice, trauma, and the value of life. With compelling leads, strong supporting characters, and suspenseful storytelling, it keeps viewers emotionally invested from start to finish. It's a standout sci-fi thriller that manages to be both entertaining and meaningful.
