This has been one of the best dramas this year as it's funny, touching, covers a sport we don't usually see in Korean dramas, and the performances are great. Yoon Kye Sang especially is killing it.
Enjoying it so much I'm watching each new episode the minute it drops on Netflix. Had a couple of big disappointments this year but this isn't one of them.
Only watched Ep1, but for a mini drama it's decent. Very pretty cinematography, costumes and sets, and the performances are quite good. Enjoying being able to get through an episode in only a few minutes instead of feeling stressed about 40 episodes of 45 minutes to wade thru :)
no matter how cruel and unfair the governor is - you have no right to fight back and should follow its orders…
The first 30 episodes were amazing but as we realized neither the FL or the ML were ever going to fight back against a vile Emperor, and that the ML is a coward, the entire thing becomes ridiculous. A 1 out of 10 for me. Poorly written last 10 episodes destroyed the entire drama.
Calling someone “r*tarted” looking in the big year of 2025 , wow , could you be any less embarrassing I hope…
OK, snowflake.
And yep, obviously I know what retarded means and that's why I used the term. She has acted through the entire drama like the FL has intellectual disabilities.
You know what they say: never judge a book by its cover, and the same goes for dramas—especially after just…
Believe me it gets a LOT worse. My annoyance began at episode 8 when I realized Meng Zi Yi can't act and the screenwriter can't write. It worsened with every later episode.
At episode 15 I double-sped through everything except Liu Xueyi's scenes, and even that couldn't save it as he's not in enough scenes and Meng Zi Yi is in too many.
Dropped it and came back to see if episode 23 had improved. Nah. Didn't think it was possible but Meng Zi Yi's performance is worse than ever. Dropped permanently. Moved on.
I am honestly amazed to understand how the director thought 8,978 shots of Meng Zi Yi with the same wide eyes, open mouth and empty facial expression as if she's retarded was going to make his drama better.
I dropped it and then went back to Episode 23 to see if she had improved. Nah.
At the place where they're dumping bodies, he saves her (again), rushes to her and, again, the same vacuous facial expression, big eyes, open mouth, as if she's mentally impaired.
I have seen thousands of Asian dramas and she is the worst actress I have ever watched in any of them. Talentless.
It was a righteous drop and nothing will convince me to watch any more of her.
Oh, no! That’s not true at all! Ziyi and Xueyi have a visual match, and their chemistry is just amazing!
There's no chemistry between them, Xueyi is carrying every scene they're in together. Meng Ziyi should return to drama school and learn some acting skills. 1,000 hours of nails screeching down a chalkboard would be preferable to seeing that red eyed, bug eyed, empty stare she does one more time.
Without her I could have finished the drama as bullsh*t as the plot fell into. With her, I'd poke fiery hot needles in my eyes rather than watch. Dropped after ep20.

Clearer for you?
