I so much love EP 19. The way ML was looking at her when they met. The marriage proposal....so good..
I initially hated that they changed this part a little bit. In the donghua, the didn't have time to catch up, with them being pursued by the Martial Soul Hall people relentlessly.
But seeing how Tang San looked at Xiao Wu, and their interactions (Xiao Wu's jealousy), along with the proposal, I accepted that this is good too.
You will understand later what he wants. And everything will make sense once you learn about it.
Since you asked, I can tell you what's going to happen, based on the donghua. The crown prince is actually not the real Crown Prince. The real one died many years ago. The one impersonating the crown prince is Qian Renxue, Bibi Dong's daughter. She has a soul bone that helps her to change her appearance. Qian Renxue has appeared a few times - she's the girl wearing the cloak when talking with Bibi Dong. Her mission is to take over Tiandou from within, as the Crown Prince.
I'm on board with this adaptation around episode 9, and this coming from someone who loves the donghua very much. I couldn't get on board with the live adaptation in the beginning because of a few reasons; 1. The first four episodes are about the characters introduction, so as someone who knows who they are, this feels so slow to me. 2. The CGI. Sorry to say, but the CGI really need some rework. 3. The fights. I still think, up to episode 19 (commenting this reply) leaves so much to be desired. Of course, some are good. But there are many times I'm left with "Ehh???"
The reason why I enjoy this drama despite my criticism is because the adaptation is truthful to the donghua with some minor changes. As the donghua's fans, obviously I get so happy to see it coming to life.
So, you have to watch it for yourself to see if it to your liking.
I won't say Hu Liena is bad, but she's certainly an antagonist for this story, because she sides with Martial Soul Hall and Bi Bi Dong (that's the impression I have for her when watching the donghua).
My guess is there'll be some arc that'll be cut short or removed.Especially Sea God and the war arc.Unless they…
What Im afraid the most is that the story ends after Tang San becomes you know what. That'd be major cliffhanger there. But I really can't see how they're going to fit everything since Haishen Island arc is also long.
I hope the LA does the scene justice. It's one of my favourite scene from the donghua. Tang San's desperation,…
After that arc, we will enter the beginning of the continent's war with Martial Soul Hall. And at the same time, Seven Shrek Devils will also go far away for cultivations.
The pace certainly has picked up at episode 8 and 9. Especially the actions part (I felt it was sorely lacking…
I hope the LA does the scene justice. It's one of my favourite scene from the donghua. Tang San's desperation, when fighting with those people from Martial Soul Hall, to the point that he destroyed one of his legs and eventually solidified himself just to block the attack and to ensure that Xiao Wu could escape successfully is certainly what I wish the LA could portray truthfully. That desperation to escape despite the continuous attack from Martial Soul Hall people, Xiao Wu watching Tang San helplessly, resulting in her sacrificing herself for him, would be a delicious angst if it is done properly.
I really can't wait for it, despite the angst it brings.
The pace certainly has picked up at episode 8 and 9. Especially the actions part (I felt it was sorely lacking despite the genre). And now we are moving past the Hell Road, it means, we are getting closer to that episode with Xiao Wu. iykyk.
BBD's backstory is so sad and messed up that it led her to become whatever she is now. Otherwise, she could have…
I loved the scene of young Bibi Dong and Yu Xiaogang in LA. I didn't really feel her character is the donghua, but this LA certainly has made me sad for her for what she went through in the past.
should i watch the donghua or season 1 LA to understand this season?
I think the LA did a good job with the story so far.
But if you have time and energy to do it, I highly recommend you to watch the donghua. You'll be able to see the characters' relationship and dynamics, and especially the chemistry between the Shrek members before they went to the final stage of the tournament. Plus, it has beautiful animation too, and it's not boring in the slightest.
I really appreciate that we get to get a glimpse of how Xiao Wu has been living after their separation. The donghua doesn't show what happens to her during that period of time, so I appreciate the creative liberty this adaptation takes on this aspect, including the Blue Silver Emperor's bracelet that Tang San gave.
Spoiler on episode 5 (I think).I feel like the drama's version of Tang San is a little bit more reckless compared…
I love the heart to heart conversation, but making hammer for Tang San and makingTang San asked his dad to show what to do so that he could understand the reasoning behind it makes Tang San feel slightly less smarter. The Tang San who is supposed to be monster among monster usually pick up things fast, and he likes to do it by himself first. It feels slightly ooc to me. I'm not trying to judge Zhou Yiran's acting, I think he did fine, it's just that the way his character is written here feels a little bit off.
As a fan of Donghua, I got teary-eyed when I heard "Break the Cocoon by Angela Zhang", same scene, same song,…
Spoiler on episode 5 (I think).
I feel like the drama's version of Tang San is a little bit more reckless compared to his Donghua counterpart. Don't get me wrong, I'm okay with the portrayal. After all, Tang San in both versions are reckless, but it annoyed me slightly when Tang San in the drama decided to absorb a ring for his Hammer. How I wish they retain the scene where his dad and his Laoshi told him early on that he can only add rings when he has 9 rings for his Blue Grass Emperor.
And also when he practice his Hammer by the waterfall, he needed his dad to show what he would gain from the practice. Tang San is a smart guy and always able to figure out things by himself. He is supposed to be able to figure out the benefit of the practice himself, but when Tang Hao shows it, it feels like Tang San is being spoonfed. The same thing about the wooden hammer. He should be the one making it, not his dad. This version is a little bit... I don't know how to explain it, pampered, which left slightly a bit of bad taste in my mouth.
Hi,I don't know if the WETV Subs in my place is the same as in yours or not, but I have subscribed to WETV VIP…
Yes, WeTV VIP can watch the first four episodes. We can watch the 5th episode if we pay for the Express. I wanted to know if buying that package will unlock the last four episodes when it is released (usually, WeTV will release this when nearing the end). I dont want to buy Express now only to learn that I have to buy one more time to unlock the last four.
But seeing how Tang San looked at Xiao Wu, and their interactions (Xiao Wu's jealousy), along with the proposal, I accepted that this is good too.
I hope this explanation helps.
