Loool yea no he is 17/18 now. He was 16/17 when he met Thi first as they said he was in M4 class where students are usually 16/17. Next episode preview Thi said Noey is now in M5 (students are usually 17/18 in this class). And Thi is around 21.

The age of consent in Thailand is 15 which imo is pretty young. Yea it could be a cultural thing. However, I do remember some friends from US say they dated college kids when they were 17/18 years old 🤷‍♀️ I think the age of consent in most states in US is 16 right? And 17/18 in some? But still they are not officially dating yet just at that stage of one trying to impress the other.

We still have 3 eps left and they might be an official couple at the very end when Noey graduates school. We'll see! For me the issue is when they show really large age gaps like in History 3 and Minato Shouji even Cutie Pie. Even though the leads were in final year high school or 1st year Uni, still the age gaps were too big imo. But a 3/4 year age gap is not that bad but again just my opinion.

I agree with you! And like I said, it is a very real issue in entertainment industries globally. But in this case, even if you compare Noey & Thi, Bom is super pale compared to Tar who pretty light skinned but not as much as Bom. And as you pointed out the leads were casted according to the description in the novel. It seems like they just chose this show to hate on and are looking for a reason to do so. The reddit thread they posted is non toxic as well and OP has left baseless comment there too. 🤷‍♀️ They can just google how people in these areas in Bangkok look and see the diversity in skintones themselves rather than acting fake woke.

I think the translation in some apps are wrong which is why a lot of people don't know the age Noey is supposed to be according to Thai education system.

I don't think they would officially be a couple unless Noey finishes school. Noey is still "courting" Thi and asked him for time to prove to him that he is serious. And I think a 17/18 year old is old enough to know who they like and who they dont so 🤷‍♀️ think the age gap between Thi and Noey is 3 or 4 years which imo is not a big gap but diff. people might see it differently.

My only consolation after this show ends will be that most series directed by the director has a Season 2. Hope there is a season 2 for this as well! 🥰🥰

Ps - Just wanted to put this out there. Skin color discrimination is a very real thing in the entertainment industry. However, the trolls are trying to find discrimination in a "gang" of HS kids of different skintones who just fight other kids and the whole comedic effect is that they say they are scary but in reality they are not. Just a bunch of HS kids. In their opinion a darker skinned lad shouldn't be casted as a rowdy kid in a "gang" even if there are lighter skintoned guys there. They have never been near a temple area where people of all skin tones live. They do not brighten their skin because they are not wealthy enough to visit clinics regularly and they are usually not interested. So to show the originality of how temple boys or people in temple area look (different skin tones) is now called discrimination??

That is the most ridiculous and insecure thing I heard. Because there are real struggles darker skin toned people face in the industry. But being casted as a rowdy HS kid alongside other lighter skintoned kids is not a concern. Because this is how it is in temple areas. It's like saying a town where people of all skin colors live cannot be shown to have people of all skin colors especially the darker skin toned ones. If you do that then they are only being used as props. How ignorant is that!

You should stop looking for discrimination where it doesn't exist. If you are only looking to paint darker skinned people to be portrayed as only good people then you are not looking for diversity really. Because we all know there are good and bad people of all skin-tones. You don't speak for all tanned skinned people. So take your trolling somewhere else.

The dark-skinned lads are in the gang and so are the light-skinned ones 🙄🙄 stop looking for trouble when there isn't any. They are not even doing anything really bad in the show just getting into fights with other schoolboys just like what some school kids in certain areas of Bangkok do loool. They are not even a proper gang. And there are many other extras in the show are also not light skinned and are not fighting around. There is no color issue in this case. Go to some other show where they genuinely make fun of dark-skinned people. And I am saying this as a tan-skinned Asian myself. It would be weirder to see all light-skinned lads as temple boys as that's not true at all. There is a mix of different skin tones everywhere and this is what they are showing.

The headband Noey wore first said Watphlu which is of course the gang name. 2nd headband he wore during end scene it said yaycharunee which is what he calls Thi :)

Not every kid in M4 is 16, some are 17 too or older depending on birthdays, if they started school late or maybe failed classes. Statistically kids in M4 are 16/17 but we can see now Noey has passed to M5 so he is older than that now.

Thi a little older than that since he is a 3rd year student. He is around 21 I think. Noey was 16/17 when Thi started tutoring him but now he is in M5. The thing is in Thai culture the age difference is not a huge deal. High schoolers are often known to date college students.

I am rewatching the episode and guys, not Thi "meow"ing at Noey just to hide his own shyness😭😭🥰. How far he has come indeed. And from the preview of next episode, Thi wants Noey to take him to the temple fair. We are getting a cute date scene 😍😍

honestly, Thi went from a cowering mess in Noey's presence to telling him "I will hit you". He even said he is not scared of him anymore. We love positive growth ❤️❤️
