Where is the plot in this
There’s honestly not much of a plot to even title here.. this was more like filler plot. The so-called backstory is just 2+2 mins tiny flashbacks ~~ one about the emperor’s death and another about the FL’s dead general lover. That’s it. After that, it turns into a full Big Brother reality show: the empress dowager bickering with concubines, the FL flirting with pretty boys, and endless confusing, beating-around-the-bush conversations with the ML.Continuity?hardly any ...the transitions are messy. It feels like scenes were chopped out, because the end of one episode never properly continues into the next, writer has left it to your wisdom to connect the dots.
The cast was actually great though. Richard, Zehui, and Yiyao are all good-looking and talented. They did their jobs well, even if the script didn’t exactly help them much.
The BGM was decent. Nothing grammy worthy.
The ending was satisfying overall… I mean what else were you expecting from this ... Even the last 2-min episode was wasted on ML crying ... Seriously was it even necessary.
Well I would've rated it high if this story had some concrete content.

Sweet ... Simple... Surprisingly Satisfying..
It's a sweet... light-hearted drama about a married couple who divorce after a series of misunderstandings, only to slowly rekindle their romance. Meng Na and Jian Qi, as always, brought their best to the screen. Their chemistry felt warm and fluffy ,.. full of respect, care, and a quiet kind of love that shows even in their playful banter 🥰🥰Honestly, they looked so visually appealing together that a few plot loopholes were easy to forgive.
I also loved the styling: Jian Qi absolutely rocked that red-burgundy hair, and Meng Na’s wardrobe 👗 was chef’s kiss... classy, modern, and perfectly curated.
Overall, it was an enjoyable, feel-good watch.🙂🙃

I was rooting for SML ..
This drama was honestly such a delightful surprise. With Li Jiu Lin and Fang Tong as leads, i was expecting a good entertainment, and thankfully, the writer also remain committed .... The story has a bit of everything ~~ action, romance, comedy, suspense, even a sprinkle of mystery.... and it’s all paced really well. Nothing drags for too long except the main conspiracy, which BTW stays interesting till the end. There are a few loopholes in the case-solving parts where some dots just… don’t connect, but it’s easy to overlook because the rest flows so smoothlyyyyy..Now, about the cast ~ Fang Tong and Jiu Lin were not the pairing I expected to work I mean never in my eldest dreams had I imagined them working together, yet they pulled it off beautifully. Their chemistry wasn’t ..... Ummmm!!! EXPLOSIVE ..., but their performances felt real, seasoned and grounded. Still, I can’t lie , the second male lead totally stole my heart 🫶. He was charming, funny, caring, and loyal, with the perfect mix of softness and strength.... And most importantly FL seems more like herself when she is around him.. huhhhhh!! Her choice definitely disappointed me.... the SML deserved that win for once!
As for the BGM is kinda unique, for sure, though not everyone’s cup of tea.
Overall, it’s a light, engaging drama that leaves you smiling by the end. What else can you ask for ... !!!

Enjoyable if you keep the logic out
Enjoyable but this drama felt like it was written by an 8-year-old during summer breaks. The FL is a writer who somehow ends up inside her own novel and has to complete 10 missions to return to the real world. As per the original script, She is supposed to have a problematic married life with Her husband, the ML,who suddenly gets the ability to read her mind, and eventually falls for her instead. Now here’s the funny part ... throughout the show, there are a dozen moments when the FL should realize he can read her mind, but nope, the writer just kept avoiding the logic conveniently.
I guess calling it a “parody” instead of a “proper drama” is the only way to justify it.
Then the acting didn’t help either
FL actress's acting was extremely bad ..I mean from over acting to flat reactions you say the word.
she managed to hit every note on the “bad acting” scale. The ML wasn’t terrible, but definitely not saving the show either.
Dialogue writing is good ...the way ML and his lackey make meaning out of modern words was hilarious.
~~ The show ends on a “wait for season 2” cliffhanger.
Well, they can wait all they want, I’m not watching it. 😅

Swapped sedan swapped soulmates (kinda!)
Excuse me !!!! but I am writing a lazy review for this one . 🥱🥱Pretty cute premise — two girls are about to be married to their respective partners, but their bride sedans get exchanged, and they end up at the wrong places. At this point, I thought this was going to turn out like The Starry Love — I mean, the bad boy-good girl and good boy-bad girl combo... but not really.😵
The FFL was supposed to marry a general but ends up in a noble/feudal lord-type family, while the SFL, who was meant to be the daughter-in-law of that family, gets married to the general instead. Either way, they both end up finding the love of their lives through these mistaken marriages.🫡
Plot holes: 🕳️
There’s very little development in their love stories. It looks rushed — the way they fall for each other so quickly doesn't feel natural. In the case of the second couple too, they meet around the 7th-ish episode, and their love story starts right away.
Cast:
Both Ao and Tian are my faves, but they seem a little green in this drama. There’s a lot of overacting and forced chemistry. Honestly, they look less like a couple and more like siblings — the “big brother teasing little sister” kind of vibe (I’ve never used this statement for any couple before, so if I’m saying this, you know it’s serious). Their dynamic just doesn’t ring a 🔔
The second couple started a bit late. Sure, there was a spark, but first, the SML entered relatively late into the plot, and second, the SFL had to pretend to be a man around him. There was an “understanding” kind of love, but nothing passionate. His role as a general is emphasized way too much. He wasn't even present to receive his bride when she arrived — but here's the kicker: both his previous wives died under tragic circumstances, and he was absent both times. That got me thinking... I shouldn't expect a good romance from such a flat character — and I was right! 😔
Extras:
BGM was okay. Styling was your regular, predictable period drama fare. The plot got duller with each passing episode. Too much emphasis on the family business of the FML, and while I was genuinely looking forward to FFL’s martial arts moves… I wasn’t served to my satisfaction.
Overall: Just so-so.

Even With all its clichès still enjoyable
Nothing sort of a blockbuster here just a cute office/modern romance plot which is sweet but twin sisters' cliche ...sweet but hidden identity cliche ...sweet but pushover FL cliche ...sweet but accidental kiss cliche ... Sweet but side couple one night stand cliche ... sweet but long list childhood friends cliche .... Sweet but green tea back from his past cliche ... Sweet but grandma wants to marry him cliche ...sweet but abusive father cliche ... With all these overriding clichès this was still a good pick for my Saturday night binge watching .. mediocre in terms of acting... average in terms of writing...cringe in terms of dialogue and sometimes even awkward in terms of expressions. Music was okay but easily forgettable. Was this review helpful to you?
Rating: 2/10 — One point for Luo Z, and one for the patience I somehow managed to have.
I usually begin my reviews with a short plot introduction, but in this case, I need to address the utterly nonsensical female lead first.Let’s start with a question: what would you do if your future self came back and warned you about the biggest mistakes of your life—mistakes that would cost you your mother’s life, your daughter’s life, your happiness, and everything you hold dear?
The obvious and sane answer would be to listen to your future self and avoid those mistakes, right?
But no—this pig-headed female lead has a completely different perspective. And what does this idiot say to her future self? “You’ve lived your life to the fullest. There was no one to stop you from doing what you wanted. Even if it’s a mistake, I still want to do it.”
For context, the mistake she’s so hell-bent on making is marrying a scumbag who was screwing her bestie while sending her flowers. In the future, this man steals her entire family inheritance, abandons their sick daughter (yes, the same one she had with him), and makes a new baby with that same bestie.
Holy crap—I felt so disgusted with this female lead. It’s like she’s willing to risk everything just to be laid by this absolute trash of a man.Yuck ! 🤢
Even after receiving repeated danger signals from this walking red flag and multiple warnings from her future self, she still ends up marrying him, only to discover, he was only after her money yeah!!! Hallelujah!!!! ladies and gentlemen!! 🤣
"When your lustful goals (will not call it love, that is too degrading), hijack the basic human compassion in your mind this is the obvious output you should be expecting." I personally wanted her to face worse.
Moving forward, this drama has a negligible amount of love or romance. The male lead shows up only in the last two episodes—and even then, he’s just lurking on the sidelines. For the rest of the show, it’s the female lead inside the male lead’s body, guiding her past self through all the mess she created.
Luo Z was good—both as his original character and as the FL’s future self. Though honestly, he could’ve added a few more layers of femininity to make it more convincing.
As for the FL? Below average, hands down. I don’t know if it’s this disastrous role that’s made me unconsciously biased against her, but I couldn’t find a single thing I liked—neither her acting nor her expressionless face with those overflowing lip fillers. Just… eh !!!! no.
To sum it up, this drama had potential, but thanks to a brain-dead FL, lip-filler overload, and a love story that shows up fashionably late and barely dressed, it crashes harder than her common sense. Watch it if you enjoy yelling at your screen—otherwise, skip it and thank me later.

Handsome eunuch✨ and hot mess ?
A man with a tragic past, pretending to be a eunuch (ML), and a street-smart woman with a drifter's past (FL) are blessed/condemned (depending on your outlook) with marriage by the Castellan and end up living under the same roof. 👌ML is constantly on edge trying to keep his identity hidden, while FL has her own mysterious reasons for sticking close to him. 👉👈 Amid all this chaos, their feelings blossom like the confused flowers that out of nowhere bloomed in winter.🌸
FL initially dismisses her feelings for ML as wildly impractical—because, well, eunuch 🫣—but eventually throws logic to the wind. Similarly, ML wants to be close to her but keeps his emotional and literal distance to protect his secret. Very noble. Very tortured. Very I-need-a-hug energy.🫢
Takeaways:
A woman falling for a eunuch—even though there were clear opposite-gender sparks—was a bold, refreshing twist. She doesn’t fall for his real identity first, she falls for his soft, shy eunuch facade. Iconic. ❤️
His helplessness and bashful reactions every time she got close? Adorable. He only dared to kiss her when she was drunk, and honestly, that restraint? needs its own category of noble prize. 😘
The FL may not have a fancy education, but her business acumen? Chef’s kiss. She’s pretty, bold, rational, money-minded (in a totally lovable way), and driven by a strong conscience. She’s also spontaneous and incredibly resourceful. She drags the ML out of sticky situations more than once ✨—except for the last two episodes, where she briefly cosplayed as a pushover. Minor glitch. 😮💨
What disappointed me:
The dreaded cliffhanger. Yes. That thing the writers pull when they forget that stories need endings. The central issue behind the ML’s tragic past? Barely touched. The ending was brisk, hollow, and about as emotionally fulfilling as instant noodles without the seasoning. 🫤
Plot inconsistencies? Oh, plenty. ML whips up heavenly fruit porridge in one episode, earning praise from the FL herself for his culinary talent. Fast forward a few episodes, and he can’t even light a stove properly and ends up charring rice cakes into edible charcoal. Did the writer lose his notes or was this a character arc in reverse?🧐🤔
On the cast:
Luo Zheng—usually more magnetic in modern dramas—was decent here. Not his peak, but I’m not mad about it. 💕Rain Lu? Now this surprised me. I dropped “You From the Future” after three episodes because of her over-acting, but here she brought her A-game. Seems like this kind of role really fits her. Kudos, girl. 👍
The costume and set aesthetics were average—nothing bizarre or standout. Except that hat ML wore. That ridiculous, floppy headpiece. I laughed harder than I should have. It looked like a fashion disaster met a history book. 🤣🤣
Overall?
It exceeded my expectations. Yes, it was chaotic. Yes, the plot had memory lapses. But it was fun, fluffy, and delivered the kind of giddy, soft feels you secretly watch dramas for. Just don’t expect depth or resolution.
Do I recommend it?
Absolutely. Just... leave your craving for logic and closure at the door.🤷

Twin trouble, murder mayhem and a beautiful BGM
Okay, so we’re working with another “new identity + revenge” formula, but hear me out—it tried to dodge the usual cliché traps. No lookalike-sister, Instead, we get a face reconstruction twist in a twin setup, and honestly that was refreshing. Now, mix that with a fight for the heir’s throne and two tangled love triangles for a spicy hot pot.BUT, the plot moved like it had dial-up internet and misunderstandings took their leisure time to subside. Also, someone PLEASE explain to me the law and order system in these Chinese dramas. Like, how is the villain out here committing serial murders with his shiny mini katana and somehow still roaming free? Meanwhile, our leads have to conduct their own FBI-level investigation, find evidence, set up PowerPoint presentations, and probably submit a written application before saying, “Hey, he might be the killer.” like there is no police station or investigation agency in the town.
Sir, this isn’t petty theft—someone literally died, and still no cops, no court, no investigation? Wild.
Now let’s talk cast—
Dai Gao & Hong Xiao: my long-awaited power pairing since Revenge of Begonia, and they did not disappoint. Hong Xiao, the visual goddess that she is, served versatility with elegance. Enters as Seductress? Check. Then turns Pitiful blind woman? Check. Later into Conflicted heiress? Protective sister? Daring lover ready to kill? Check, check, check.
Dai Gao? A certified gentleman throughout. Usually, his roles come with some "bad boy turned soft" but here? Full-on green flag from start to finish.
Now, let me bless your ears with the true MVP of the series:
BGM – “Love Is Back”
Go to YouTube and thank me later. That song? Chef’s kiss.
Final Verdict:
Would I watch it again? Nah.
Would I recommend it? Yes ( cry out loud)
Did I enjoy it despite its chaos? Absolutely
Score: Solid 7 to 7.5/10
Not perfect, but definitely a guilty pleasure done right.

BAILUO forever ❤️
Sometimes, simple and straightforward plots feel more refreshing and engaging than convoluted ones. Even without those wickedly obvious misunderstandings, kitchen politics, or prolonged conspiracies, the story delivered beyond my expectations. The setting revolves around an investment and banking firm—great! We have a modern office romance scenario, which is always a plus. One of the reasons I appreciate office settings in contemporary dramas is that they often incorporate informative elements into the script. This one, too, included bits of market and investment knowledge—though exaggerated for dramatic effect—but still present.
Moving forward, let’s discuss the characters:
1) Male Lead (ML):
Absolutely adorable. Nothing is more attractive than a man who navigates his partner’s life's turbulence with patience and understanding. He is warm, composed, and deeply respectful of her. His protectiveness and possessiveness are balanced perfectly—he ensures her freedom while standing by her side. Most importantly, he loves her more than she loves him, which makes him all the more endearing.
2) Female Lead (FL):
A true hustler. She remains emotionally aloof—almost immature—when it comes to love, prioritizing her career above all else. Personally, I find women who compromise their careers for the sake of flimsy family excuses to be absolute failures in our society. The ML is wealthy and willing to give her the world, yet she insists on earning her own success. That sense of achievement is something respected by truly good men (not referring to pimps, who would rather have a woman quit her job and become their full-time maid).
On top of that, she is beautiful, witty, a problem solver, a loyal friend, and so much more. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say she is one of the most inspiring female leads in modern dramas. The best part? She’s intelligent. She doesn’t wait for the ML to explain everything to her—instead, she takes matters into her own hands, using a recorder to figure things out. In the end, she even helps him avoid a crisis.
Another charming aspect of this couple is their approach to marriage. They took a two-year gap before dating and getting married. Unlike certain dramas where the FL is so career-obsessed that she delays marriage for seven years, this story kept it realistic. I don’t endorse excessively long live-in relationships—such delays defeat the purpose of marriage and send misleading messages to society. If you can’t strike a balance between personal and professional life within three years, perhaps you’re not meant for the best of both worlds anyway.
3) The Villain(s):
There are multiple antagonists—one is a full-fledged villain, while the other is an anti-hero (half-villain) and the Second Male Lead (SML), who, unsurprisingly, is in love with the FL.
4) FL’s Best Friend:
Initially, I liked this character—she was adorable and sweet. However, her sweetness quickly turned into an unbearable nuisance. The way she desperately chased after Riley’s character was painful to watch—zero self-respect, zero self-worth… just downright pathetic.
At one point, it felt like she was desperate for his (you know what). And those exaggerated cutesy expressions she made? Oh, God. Utterly cringeworthy—uglier than a buffalo’s buttocks.
Honestly, I wanted the writer to kill her off or at least put her in a coma. She was that exasperating.
5) Side Characters:
Well-written and well-executed. From their office colleagues to FL’s mother and ML’s secretary, each side character added depth to the plot.
Cast:
Luo Yunxi was phenomenal as the ML. When has he ever disappointed? His looks, acting, and overall presence are on another level. He remains one of my favorites for a reason.
Bai Lu, my doll, was as charming as ever. Her styling elevated her beauty even more. She shares great dynamics with all her co-stars, and her acting, spontaneity, and screen presence are magnetic.
Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu are often called a screen couple for their incredible on-screen chemistry.
Gao Hanyu is a prominent name in Chinese short dramas. I’ve seen him portray the rugged businessman in multiple series, and his performance here was equally commendable.
Music:
Absolutely lovely—calming, romantic, and heartwarming. ❤️❤️❤️
Overall Verdict:
This drama was totally worth it.
P.S.: In my opinion, the story effectively ends at Episode 30.

No sympathy for the FL here.. the drama is a lesson
My personal thoughts about such cases :If doubt takes root in a rational mind, no mere message can dispel it—humans require substantial evidence to either believe or disbelieve. The FL, however, defies this basic logic. She encountered glaring anomalies—lies about a younger sister, controlling behavior, fabricated stories about childhood acquaintances, falsehoods regarding his ex-wife’s brother, and even the bizarre broken vase incident, which should have set off multiple alarms in any rational person’s mind. Yet, despite this overwhelming pattern of deception, she allowed herself to be manipulated by a single message.
It may sound harsh, but women like her invite their own suffering. The world operates on the principle of survival—either you possess the intelligence to remain rational despite emotional interference, or you resign yourself to weakness and its inevitable consequences. There is no middle ground.
The pinnacle of her foolishness was when the ex-wife’s brother lay dying, struggling to expose the truth. Even as he desperately tried to hand her a flash drive—the very evidence she needed—she remained fixated on dubious messages, which could have been sent by anyone with access to the phone. Her wilful ignorance in that moment was nothing short of infuriating.
Such women do not merely ruin their own lives; their irrationality endangers entire families. Their lack of discernment breeds crises, their blindness to deception makes them liabilities, and their refusal to confront reality ensures tragedy.
I wish writer wrote the worst ending for this to make woman understand what they are getting themselves into by blindly trusting.
Cast is good ...leads did a great job. .

Son's fiance to father's concubine #5
So, I started watching this drama, and for the first few episodes, it had potential—contract marriage, slow-burn romance, soft ML chasing FL. I was intrigued. But then, out of nowhere, the script took a nosedive off a cliff, and instead of soaring, it belly-flopped straight into chaos. The Good:
1. The Cast: FL was okay—not drop-dead gorgeous, but acted decently. ML (Cavan) actually looked like a marshal and acted fine too. But seriously, dude, fire your script selector. You deserve better.
2. That’s it. That’s the list.
The Bad:
1. Up to episode 5-6, things were fine, but then the writer’s creativity had an asthma attack and tragically passed away. RIP.
2. Concubine #5: Look, I felt bad for her in the beginning. But then she turned into some sort of discount villain mastermind. In under 24 hours, she took over the entire family, and within a month, she had drugged the daughter-in-law, poisoned the son, killed another concubine, and paralyzed the grand marshal. And yet… no one reported her? Not even the army? A woman who showed up last month is now commanding troops while the actual general is missing? The army just went, “Oh well, she seems trustworthy.” Really? The military worldwide is collectively rolling in their graves.
3. Background music sucks ..may be one of worst I ever come across
Now the biggest question?? If you should watch it or not ...
I am leaving it to your own judgement as for me i regret wasting my time on this I even dropped it before third last episode ( predictable much)

Philia of years addressed at last
The story is simple ... No rocket science here ... Starts with betrayal by FL's lover because of some blah blah blah ...now She wants to recruit a bf to escape the embarassment and the blah..... Here ML gets his chance to blah blah and becomes the contract bf ... After a lot of blahs they end up together ... The end (,BLAH!!,)BYE 👋
(PS: Were you expecting me to write a book on this ? )

FIVE DAUGHTERS AND ONE DREAM ❤️
This drama isn’t about groundbreaking twists or mind-blowing suspense—it’s simply a warm, relatable slice-of-life story about a mother and her five daughters adjusting to urban life. The daily struggles, the bonding, and the resilience of an ‘all-daughters’ family take center stage, making it a nostalgic watch for anyone who understands the mother-daughter dynamic. The plot follows a countryside mother and her daughters as they navigate city life, tackle challenges together, and eventually find success with their tea house business. Over time, romance blossoms, and each daughter finds her own version of ‘Mr. Perfect.’ The show delivers lighthearted moments, beautiful chemistry between the couples, and a feel-good vibe that keeps you hooked. It may not make it to my all-time favorites list, but it’s definitely a drama worth experiencing at least once!
What I Loved:
The chemistry between the couples was fantastic! My personal favorites? The third and fifth couples. Their interactions were so fun and heartwarming.
The cast did a great job, especially Ni Hong Jie as the mother—she stole the show! Also, I was definitely here for Wang Xing Yue (third son-in-law).
The OST and background score were decent, setting the right mood.
What Could’ve Been Better:
1. The actresses playing Fifth Lady & Chulan could use some acting lessons—some scenes had too much overacting and cringe moments.
2. The third couple had so much potential! Their romance wrapped up way too soon—they could’ve been the show’s highlight.

Lived better than my expectations
Story revolves around a fallen god 'sinner' who possesses an innocent mortal's body and a goddess who comes to mortal world seeking holy fruit ( misplaced from heaven) as innocent mortal's bride. (Not SPOILING MUCH FOR YOU)during the span both mortal and the fallen god in his body fall for goddess and bittersweet romance begins.
The take aways from this drama:
1) loved watching contrasting behaviour of the ML as the sinner and the mortal... HONESTLY THIS IS SUCH A GOOD RPG IDEA FOR PLAYING IT WITH YOUR PARTNER 🤭🤭)
2) beautiful and talented cast ..FL is one my fav i love watching her in pre independence era shows.. she is awesome.
3)The couple has a good chemistry.... Loved watching ML being serious while protecting her and flirting dirty and stealing kisses when they are alone.
4) perfect balance of genres
5) good and consistent pace of plot
6) unpredictable twists
7) even vamp's character found a purpose in the end.
Dumps of the drama.
1) ending is rushed the last three episodes are shot in a way that kind of disappointed me. Plus the closure to the story is not properly given.
2) even though it is not the problem with drama itself but the subtitles suck . I watch a lot of chinese drama so i can figure out what is going on but as for beginners this is going to create problems.
