Also, another one, in the novel, when the engagement banquet canceled, he just announced it to her, expecting her sympathy. But in the drama, you feel his sadness, his guilty and he took full responsibility coming to her house, apologized, getting scold by her family , his nervousness you can see by him turning off his cellphone, etc, and his worries when ShiYi teased him : mom told me to ditch you… This is a real reincarnated ZSC, the one who has and always loved ShiYi, I appreciate the writer or director paying attention to every details.
This was my most anticipated drama to watch ever since they announced it last year. I read the novel 3-4 times…

( example: register the marriage without asking her, or register multiple citizenship without her acknowledgment, seriously????) If he was not Xiao Nanchen Prince reincarnation, I would have told ShiYi to run away from him ASAP. The ZSC in drama is perfect, gentle , detailed oriented, kind, truly care and very respect ShiYi. I love it.
To answer people’s confusion about ZSC’s family, please read below, this is a complicated family, SPOILER ALERT: 1.ZSC’s dad and mom: the family didn’t approve their relationship, ZSC dad left the house with his mom, when ZSC was 3yo, his mom died. His dad returned and married ZSC’s stepmom so ZSC can take family name ZhouSheng 2. ZSC’s dad and ZSC’s stepmom: marriage due to family benefit and pressure , no love. 3. ZSC dad also passed away when he was young 4. ZSC’s uncle and his wife: had Zhou Sheng Ren. 5. ZSC’s uncle and ZSC’s stepmom: was in relationship and the stepmom was pregnant before she was married to ZSC’s dad, ZSC’s dad knew about that but still married her so she could take care of ZSC. 6. Both Zhou Wen Xing and Zhou Wen Chen are children of ZSC’s step mom and his uncle.

Hahaha, you are so adorable with your douban rating nervousness. I love it… Lemme tell you, don’t worry and forget about douban rating, it’s you who enjoy the drama. If we think it’s good and worth watching, then we support it within our ability. People have different opinions, so don’t let them affect our mood. If the douban rating for this is not good, would you stop watching it? When it comes, it comes. We will know by then, in the mean time, let’s just enjoy and support our favorite actor/actress.

Hmm, about Allen Ren outfit, I think it matches his character, a geeky, dorky, shy chemistry professor with no sense of fashion. What I agree with them is the quality of the drama and also Allen’s monotone accent which @peachblossomgoddess already discussed above,. As you can see, One and Only has top notch production in term of cinematography, etc,… but in F&E, you can see there is a quality reduction. The most obvious one to me is the fine details of sharpness screen. It is blurry, not define, it is just not there… About Allen’s accent, as we discussed above,it is really hard to speak perfect mandarin, and not many actors/actresses can be able to do that, even high profile one. What else, I guess maybe because they spent too much money on One and ONly, so they ran out of money for the F&E, hahahaha
Heat index is high but Douban comments and initial reviews are mixed. If I had to guess based on the comments…
What your thought on Wallace Chung? His cantonese accent is always dubbed in drama. But I think he is a special case though cause he still gets casted in movies, his movies with Zhao Wei and Luis Koo brought him an award for best acting
