Heartbroken from too many lies
How can love survive when there are too many lies?
Overall, the acting from all casts was very good and that’s the only reason I have managed to watch this drama up to episode 30.
I was engrossed in the so called love between the leads and I must say I have had such high hopes for their love to survive and have a happy ending after all the traumatic experiences!
However, in reality, deep in my heart I also know that it’s not meant to be… so very sad 😢 I had a feeling that it would not end well, so decided to read some reviews. Finally, my sentimental side stopped me from finishing this drama. He confessed that Qiu Jia Ning was the only one he had ever loved in this lifetime, and yet to learn that he had a love child with his ex girlfriend was unexpected and disappointing! For some people, watching a movie or drama is a way of escaping reality in life, so a sad ending especially when it comes to LOVE is too much for my heart to bear. So I have stopped watching this drama to the end.
I first watched Luo Yun Xi in Love Is Sweet, and fell in love with his acting then. It’s no exception in this drama, Broker. His look and demeanour are superb for this role. The expressions he portrayed were enough to convey the feelings and emotions without words. So I was keen to watch more modern dramas where he was the leading man. However from my research, most modern dramas where he was the lead didn’t have a happy ending either. Oh well…
I don’t remember ever seeing Victoria Song before but her acting as a high IQ but low EQ scientist is relatable and endearing. Her dedication to her research work is admirable. Although it can be seen as her being too stubborn or arrogant when she refused to get back with Xiao Shan after they first broke up (and being lied to), I can understand and respect her decision. To me it portrays self respect and dignity, and trust is the foundation of any relationship. Once it’s broken, it’s truly hard to forget, although it’s possible to forgive for your own sake.
Overall, this drama has a lot of potential but the sad ending is not something I enjoy or look for.
