maybe it'll help, thinking of RR as an early teenager, maybe 13, 14 years old, without parents nor any family, she was found near a river in a basket 🧺, and lived in the village from door to door......she doesn't know what love is, nor what family care, motherly care is....she had no one to guide her nor explain to her the hormonal transition from a kid to a young lady.......she's just discovering it all for herself, quietly 🤫......ML is a grown up man, he has to fulfill the dying wish of his shifu and seal the Spirit Spring, so he can't die yet, but naive RR follows her newly discovered heart stirrings, it's not easy for ML......in later episodes ML will probably be harmed, and FL will feel sorry, but it'll be too late

my guess, he's the evil lord, who wants to reunite with Spirit Spring......Spirit Spring is his sealed power, that was taken from him in an ancient battle by someone 😄 not fully explained yet 😉

Shui didn't know what love is...even his own mother disowned him as a kid, and his father used him as a pawn only, and controlled him through excessive cruelty.....so, Shui didn't know better, but he wasn't wicked at heart and FL recognised it😀....her taming of this 'beast', was cute😀..she also tamed the iron clawed white tiger and transformed it into a puppy 🐶

ML is his royal cousin...who initially won the battle to obtain the throne for himself- then, he was defeated singlehandedly by FL, by absorbing his evil energy.......well, i don't know how far are u into the story, but FL spent a lot of effort to reform ML 👋😀👋
