I cant believe its only been 15 episodes yet. So much has happened. The ride of the first 13 episodes was much more interesting then many full length dramas. I an imagining what would have happened if they stopped for a few days after airing ep 13. I would have lost my breath....
1. Did Huai an really kill his friend (think his name is Zhou Mo) in ep 1/2? He said killing him is saving him…
Well not exactly this way... when she was young and Huai'an said he would be back after finding some food, she saw a house ahead and went there, indeed she left him behind. But she cant be blamed, she was too young and hunger stricken. And unlike Huai'an she was not very mature and insightful since childhood. But after she grew up she only remembered that parting moment vaguely. She said herself that she only remembered a man (whose age she was unsure of) told her he would come back after finding food for her but she left him. And the result was her forgetting her origins and her real name. She did try to look for him in Chang'an but how could she with no information...
I'm surprised Yan Feng Shan didn't kill Huai An when they met. I thought it was strange that YFS told his subordinates…
All those Huben members involved in the Liu family massacre were very close to XHA's father. While growing up, they all were like uncles and aunts to Huai'an. So just like XHA knows them too well, they know him and how smart he can be. That is also a reason XHA so hellbent on revenge, betrayal by someone you trust the most hurts the most...

1. No, Huai'an didn't kill him, he faked his death. (the one with moustache is indeed Zhou Mo)
2. The sister was simply too young to remember, and later was adopted by a kind hearted family (the whole thing was explained in ep 7). As for why no one could tell it was a girl is because, during the initial checks it was indeed YFS but later he was replaced. And those who were supposed to track YFS's movements and identify him were already replaced by Huben members, YFS tricked BW/Liu Li to enter in his place and get killed instead.
3. Well, no one knows that, besides, not just her, all those people involved in the massacre of Liu family were very close to them, the reason is still unclear and is one of the mysteries surrounding this show. Perhaps it will be revealed later and be a surprise.
I assure you sister, as long as you continue (of course if you have the will to give it a chance and feel like…
just for clarification, when I mentioned "mind games, morally grey....no romance", I am just pointing out the genre and ideas it is built up on for you to see if it matches you preferences and taste.
Watchable but a little boring. If you feel like sleeping it's a great show to make you sleep.
I assure you sister, as long as you continue (of course if you have the will to give it a chance and feel like continuing isn't a loss) you will be hooked, if you enjoy mind games, morally grey characters with their bottom line and a pure revenge drama with no romance. BEST OF LUCK!!
I love chengyi...but I don't know why am finding this drama boring... should I continue?.. anyone please help.
Well, how much have you watched? I suggest to watch till ep 5 if you can (although it should word out with 3 also) to see if you like it. As for my opinion, do continue... everything is great so far and the plot is just getting more intense and interesting. Already halfway through and no dull moment yet. And Cheng Yi as Xie Huai'an is just too good to be missed.
So true and at the same time I think it was much needed to see how they all adjusted themselves and to calm our hearts after all that it has gone through these past few days...
I think the diviner was the General (before the actual reveal)....
Are you talking about the one BW met before returning to Chang'an? The general, YFS? If so yes, me too, saw him in the trailers and jumped out of fear when I saw her meeting him without knowing anything...
Well since I was already ready for BW's death (because of that trailer), I will talk about something else... Seems like everything has returned to where it began. YFS returns to power and everyone disappeared. No wait, I forgot about Chancellor Gao, like everyone got out safely and only he was lift behind although I don't know what held him back. I pity him. BUT THE GAME HAS ADVANCED FURTHER. But as our poor Chancellor said (if I remember correctly), "Its harder to hold onto power rather than acquiring it." or something like that...
is this worth the watch?? I'm still at episode 1 and I can't shake off the westernized dark cinematography
The cinematography is of course more or less the same but- The plot is great, I suggest you to give the first few episodes a try. It's a dark revenge story (with no romance) with great storyline (which keeps getting better), on spot acting by everyone, and story filled with unexpected twists.
Since I already saw the new trailer and cant stop thinking now...
I am most scared of what XHA will do now, like when she was kidnapped he buried that Huben member for 7 years before sending him off and now she is.... Gosh I am going mad just thinking about it. And even if there is a plot twist I am still going mad thinking about his response π¬π¬π¬
