I definitely think his interest was piqued because he was rejected for the first time by anyone. It's the thrill of the chase for Yuan Shen, especially that he has hordes of people clammering to get his attention. For some to actually receive it and reject his gift is like "who is this girl? I gotta know more about her". He keeps getting rejected by Shaoshang, time and time again (lol) which is something he's not use to. How can I, Yuan Shen be rejected?! Now we've seen that there's some mommy issues there as well... We know for sure it's because he's not getting the attention he's seeking from another female figure that's in part driving this.

But I kinda see him like his teacher, self absorbed, entitled, and bratty. They can't stomach that they aren't the chosen one at the end of day. Yuan Shen irritates me to no end lol

Explains why 3rd Prince read them for filth that they were all trying to be nice to Zisheng now but where were they in the past!!!

I want growth for NN but I also want her to stay petty and take revenge for those who have hurt or come at

A'Yao no longer feels trapped by his family and has no choice but to do what yhey want. He's grown in that he's more willing to speak up for himself because NN showed him he can. Older brother hasn't gotten the guts yet as we saw when he refused an official position because of his Uncle. In a way, A'Yao is ahead of his older brother because he's gained a backbone of sorts.

I'm rewatching and currently on episode 19 a few things that's stayed with me:

1. Older Lou brother knowing that LBY was the one that requested the decree for NN.... 🤔🤔 How does he know this when he's not involved in politics nor in the palace?

2. Uncle Lou keeping Older brother Lou down to make his branch of the family look good he's definitely corrupt! Hopefully A'Yao isn't affected if he's brought down.
