OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS (from the description box of the trailer on YouTube):
"Nut, an ambitious artist who is responsible for the mixed art 'Loveless Society', comes into contact with Guy, a shrewd and flirtatious photographer, when both of them are assigned to compete in the 'BAD Award' competition alongside Mick, a deep thinking art-director, and Sa, a dreamy photographer. The friends are about to face a tough time under Guy's leadership, as his attempts to get into Nut's heart affect his approach to their ongoing situations. This chaotic relationship brings them to a crossroads in the way of life, work and love. A way that is not as easy as they thought it would be in a real society of love."

An excellent random thought though. Makes eloquent sense to my English brain. I was thinking the exact same thing…
I was going through the characters' profiles on Wikipedia a few days ago and one of the things they point out there is that Ouwen's impression of Mark changed precisely because he saw and acknowledged his kindness and sense of justice (that was more or less confirmed in episode 10, when Ouwen had that conversation with Joanna). I personally believe that part of Mark is his best quality. I also really love Ouwen's character. He is very well balanced. He doesn't lack anything and he was built with just the right amount of maturity, sensibility and charm. I find him extremely likeable, convincing and relatable. He has just entered the list of my favorite fictional characters. In general, I'm impressed by the chemistry between Mark and Ouwen. Despite the little screen time, they definitely left the mark.
Entrusting matters of the heart to a machine is not that different from playing affinity games with your friends when you are a teenager. It feels childish indeed. But the human mind is very complex and sometimes it makes us do the unreasonable. In Yan Fei's case, she probably has little confidence because she is scared she might get hurt if she pursues a new love, so she is delegating the resposibility to the agency's digital program. Because it's easier and this way she can't blame herself later. I'm positive Yan Fei will eventually find the maturity and the strength to understand what she really wants, though. My question now is: will she change the direction of her business at the end of the series, after realizing that using a love algorithm doesn't work?

Right. If Mark and Ouwen were to take the tests performed by the agency, they would probably discover that their compatibility is very low. If you think about it, those two are polar opposites. One – Mark – is impulsive, his actions and reactions being always driven by instinct; the other – Ouwen – is more prudent, judicious and reflective. Even in a situation like the one presented in episode 12, Ouwen was trying to be the voice of reason ("are you sure you are sober?", "will you regret it?"). But again, love and happiness can't be obtained from mathematical equations. Fortunately, despite his rationality and his job at the marriage agency, Ouwen seems to be aware of that.
I've just realized how well Mark and Ouwen fit the theme of the series -- that is, love is not science.
At the beginning Mark was pretty much presented as a 'super hetero' who likes chasing girls and has ignorant beliefs about gay people. However, he gradually became very fond of Ouwen. He was bewitched by his charming personality and appearance. In the end, he fell in love with him and decided to commit seriously by becoming his boyfriend. In this sense, Mark and Ouwen's relationship has nothing to do with science. Mark, in particular, overcame what might be considered a logical limit for him. But yeah, love is not rational. You can't foresee it or plan it. Love just happens and it can occur at any time. Mark and Ouwen are the perfect representation of that.
Unfortunately, the production company isn't that active on social media. Their updates were few and not very clear, so the news regarding season 2 didn't spead. The fact that the series isn't really popular also didn't help.
This is a warning to all dedicated Cherry Magic fans!!!!!Akaso and Machida have been casted in the same drama…
Omg, I'm so late, but this is such a nice news! Honestly, I didn't expect them to be casted in another series together because BL is still a niche market that, as you wrote elsewhere, the Japanese mainstream looks down on. I thought that such an event would remain a dream of ours, but this new project and the little wave of Japanese BL adaptations we're having now give me hope for the future ^^ Also, I agree with @umasou007: I don't think I would have wanted Akaso and Machida to play a couple in the new series. Thailand, where the 'ship culture' is at the base of the economy of romantic dramas, does it all the time (recasting the popular pairings/ships over and over in different roles and productions) and I am not really a fan of that. It's also not good for the actors themselves, who don't get to experiment a lot.
Anyway, I'm so glad that our CM community is reuniting again! ^^
No one can beat Ohm and Singto, though (they both had 5 different partners of the same sex throughout their acting…
You are right. I was counting "The Shipper" as the 5th one because of Khett's temporary, strange attraction for Kim, but since there's a girl in Kim's body, we can't consider it a BL or a gay relationship -- hence First is not one of his partners.
I totally agree with everything you said in your review. It wasn't groundbreaking in terms of plot and there were some technical imperfections here and there, but the chemistry between the main leads, the natural development of their relationship and the beautiful scenes where they take care of each other definitely make the series special. It now has its own place in my heart ♡
Keep the spolier tag . Not everyone need to know ending . If we keep the suspence more fans gonna watch it . I…
I haven't read the novel, but judging from the trailer, the poster and the little promotions that they did when the series was first announced, it seems pretty clear to me that Theo and Ak are endgame. I remember that at the GMMTV 2021 press conference Book and Force were the only ones who were interviewed by the journalists. I agree, Cherry Magic was a wonderful, heartwarming gift. One of the best BL series I've ever watched.
