I must agree. That line -- combined with his speech about being a player and his attitude in the flashbacks --…
Exacly, you summarized it perfectly.
Well, at least we can learn something from Film's character: never judge a book by its cover.

By the way, plot and characters aside, the editing was also worse in this part. They added a lot of unnecessary sound effects and the transitions were choppy and confusing in the beginning.
I hope that part 3 -- if there's any -- will somehow redeem the story because the first part was good.

Ugh. The old "I'm not gay, I'm just gay for you" .... Will it ever die.And even without that dodge Film comes…
I must agree. That line -- combined with his speech about being a player and his attitude in the flashbacks -- surprised me and made me roll my eyes. Honestly, it wasn't just questionable in terms of taste or as an overused trope, it was also very unnecessary and out of tone. In part 1, both Kong and Film looked like two guys who have come to terms with their sexual orientation a long time ago, who are confident and can flirt naturally with someone of the same sex. Film's "I'm not attracted to guys" clashed with his previous actions and behaviour, in my opinion.

Isn't this a series? I think there will be another episode or two.Nicely done, though!
Mind Trio confirmed that on July 16 they will release a part 2 of this story, this time from Film's perspective.

"Once in Memory" seems to be a collection of short films. "Love at First Sight" is the first one in the series.…
Don't worry, I didn't interpret your reply as you wanting more, but just you pointing out a little detail in the progress of the story. Personally, I think that your interpretation isn't that far from reality and it wouldn't be that scandalous. The protagonists of "I Told Sunset About You" were also high school students, but they were still able to represent sexuality so beautifully and in such a complex way. The main factors here are clearly the light tone and the short length, which didn't allow them to explore their relationship much. For those reasons, I agree that their interactions were rightly calibrated. Showing more would have felt inappropriate and forced.

Kong and Film were clearly provoking and testing each other in that scene. I don't know whether Kong's "let's go home together" was filled with 'those' intentions, but I agree that the look on his face and Film's gulp suggest that the thought flashed through their minds, at least for a moment. In any case, initiating physical contact (a caress, a kiss or something more) with the person you are flirting or going out with is just the natural development of your relationship and the result of your attraction for one another. I don't think it's just you having that impression and I don't think it's wrong to assume that a high school boy would have such feelings and needs.

Anyway, the presence or absence of sexual tention doesn't change anything for me. I don't see one's sexual drive as non-romantic or non-cute. Or rather, it depends on how it's portrayed. In this case, the two boys were confident but also shy and hesitant, which is typical of teenagers. That little suggestion was justified by their feelings; it was risky but natural, tempting yet pure.

Overall, it was a very simple short, but it was genuine and well executed.

No problem! And I agree with you when you say it was nicely done. It was natural, with no frills. Just two high school boys falling in love and showing their feelings in the most simple, beautiful way possible.

On A Man Who Defies the World of BL Jul 11, 2021
The ending made me think that in the end the MC is just another character in the BL world he was born in. He may have an individual conscience, but he doesn't have any control over his life. The manga artist is the one who will decide his destiny.

"Once in Memory" seems to be a collection of short films. "Love at First Sight" is the first one in the series. They'll probably create more shorts under this title in the future, but I believe they'll center around other characters.

From Mind Trio's YouTube channel: "All of us have ups and downs in our relationships with friends and family members. These experiences guide us to be better and stronger people. Let’s create and share these unforgettable experiences through the short stories called "Once in Memory". "Once In Memory - the Short Stories" presents extraordinary experiences from various people around the world. Mind Trio would love to express all of your precious memory through our actors and actresses as short stories. Title Fish upon the Sky Spoiler
Who do u think Nan referred to when he said his love is a star in the sea.....sometimes i feel lik he likes Pi…
JittiRain, the author of the novels, has written a spin-off dedicated to Nan's story titled "Star in the Water" (even in the series, in Thai Nan says "water", not "sea"). Nan is not interested in Pi, he actually has a boyfriend and he is in love with another guy but, as he explains in the last episode, his love is impossible because the man he loves is his half-brother (at the end of the novel he discovers that they are not blood-related, though). The author said that she regrets writing the novel, so it won't be adapted. If you are curious, you can read a summary here: https://twitter.com/i/events/1387412058522611712.

There is likely some weak writing here, but it can be rationalized to some extent. When Pi pursues Muang Nan,…
This is so beautifully written.

To be fair, Louis does suit the part of the innocent guy, and while Duean and Meen are supposed to be the side…
"There isn't any indication of romantic feelings on Meen's part thus far": actually, they have dropped many hints here and there. Remember when Meen asked Duean if his keychain was a gift from his girlfriend? Even just the thought of that possibility suddenly made him sad and uncomfortable (and as soon as he learned that it was from his mother, he felt relieved and cheered up). Also, when they went to Nakhon Nayok and Duean was flirting with the teacher, Meen looked pretty jealous in his own way.
I don't know whether he has realized that Duean has a crush on him, but he has never rejected his advances. Meen may be naive, but I don't think he is completely clueless -- to both his and Duean's feelings. I think that Duean's confession in the next episode will go pretty smoothly because deep down Meen has already accepted his feelings for him, maybe subconsciously.

Yes, it's not an exaggeration of BLs or Thai media. The culture of ghosts is part of Thailand's history and tradition. There are still many shrines, even in big cities like Bangkok, dedicated to certain spirits. You can read more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghosts_in_Thai_culture.
