Title Fish upon the Sky Spoiler
What are some of the changes they made?
According to JayBL (who read the novel and shared some snippets on Twitter), after Nan's rejection, Pi gave up on him and just got closer to Mork. The last scene we saw in this episode originally had Pi confessing to Mork and telling him that he likes him (not that he still wants to pursue Nan).

Yes, JittiRain wrote both "2gether" and "Fish Upon The Sky". She is also the author of "Theory of Love".

Yesterday GMMTV posted a message saying that their activities and schedules have been compromised by COVID19 -- they mentioned their "inability to resume normal working practices". In the post, they explained how the pandemic is affecting their current projects. I may be wrong, but I think the delay in the subs is connected to that.

Also, right now it's 3 AM in Thailand. Assuming that GMMTV's staff doesn't work at night, they probably won't release the subs in the next few hours.

Nine Days Entertainment, one of the companies involved in the production of this series, replied to the comments of some international fans and said that they'll let "the platform" (I guess they mean AIS PLAY) know about the feedback. We have hope ^^

Review Lovely Writer
I dropped the series after the first two episodes because I could already see the problems in the script and, after reading all the comments and spoilers posted in the past weeks, I must say that I'm happy I made that decision. While I was reading your review, I realized something, though: this project was probably doomed from the start. I guess that criticizing the BL industry in a BL is quite difficult, unless you are ready and willing to face the consequences. The crazy, deluded fans who ship the actors in real life are what economically supports the BL industry in Thailand; pointing an accusing finger at them wouldn't be good. The same goes for the "dark" aspects of the production of a BL and all the non-romantic interests behind it: I suspect that some viewers -- especially younger fans -- wouldn't want to see that because it would clash with their fantasies, so they probably toned it down. I feel like they tried to find a compromise, but this way the final result was a very hesitant attempt that didn't really go anywhere.

The purpose of this maybe-too-long comment is to share my experience with you and help you understand what you watched.

This series was adapted from a manga. The manga is divided in two arcs: the first one is about Hayashi's strange, daily adventures (and how he ends up deeply affecting the people around him without even noticing); the second one talks about Medaka's growing affection for Nikaido (affection that eventually turns into a romantic feeling, even though he is very careful not to let it show).

In my opinion, Hayashi's short stories didn't translate very well in the show. Hayashi is a 2D character that only works in 2D fiction. When put in a realistic context/setting, he loses his magic and turns out to be just too random and bizarre. There's a reason behind the constant introduction of new characters, though. As I said before, it's supposed to let you see how Hayashi interacts with different people and, even though it's only for a short period of time and those characters don't know Hayashi that well, they end up gravitating towards him, like flies attracted by light.
As a fan of Medaka and Nikaido's arc in the manga, I must say I'm totally satisfied with the adaptation. Not only were they able to bring the characters to life in a convincing way, but they added some really interesting moments that weren't in the manga, but that took Medaka and Nikaido's "bromance" to an upper level.

I feel like this show was meant to be enjoyed by those who were already familiar with the characters and the story. It isn't without flaws (I myself didn't give it a high rating), but as someone who has read and liked the manga, I can tell you that everything made sense to me and I can see what they were trying to do here. I also understand why it looked like a rambling, directionless pastiche to you. They tried to merge and connect two arcs (Hayashi and Medaka's) that were meant to be separated in the first place, since they have a completely different structure and tone.
I personally appreciated how they connected all the characters at the end -- that direct link was missing in the manga, if we exclude a short special chapter where Hayashi and Nikaido pass each other on the street -- and how they changed some scenarios while still being loyal and respectful towards the original source. I do think that they did their best with the material they had to start from.

You are still free to dislike or even hate this series, of course. I'm not here to change your mind, I just wanted to give you more information and let you understand the adaptation process behind the show. Hopefully some things will make more sense now.

Hello, part 2 is a music video?
It is. The second half of the music video shows how the story (part 1) ends. The short film was actually made to promote New Jiew's new song, that's why.

Trailer (translated by Lazy Subber): https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=374858510529579

The production value might be lower than a lot of other BLs that have been released lately, but the story and the characters feel much more sincere in their rawness -- or at least this is the impression I got from the trailer. I hope the production company -- or a kind soul online -- will add subtitles.

I get why Pi would misunderstand Mork's intentions. Think about it: his tramatic past experiences, his trust issues, his inferiority complex, his rivalry with Mork... all these factors probably affected his judgement and served as a filter to analize the events. From Pi's perspective, Mork's behaviour must have looked very suspicious. Why would his love rival help him? At that moment, Pi must have felt like a fool.

You know, this drama is not just about romance and comedy, it's also about growth. I'm looking forward to seeing Pi's character development. I definitely want him to be more confident.

Not some of the people being toxic even before the show being aired.... Cmon, take it easy! Even if they are new…
I must agree with this. The negativity surrounding certain series makes me want to avoid the comment section sometimes. Constructive criticism is one thing -- and it's totally understandable and legitimate -- but groundless complaints are quite another and they can become pretty annoying in the long run, especially when they are supported by a large number of people.

BTW, this sudden bias against the use of new actors is puzzling and ridiculous. Aren't actors new in most BL productions? Here the actors aren't even completely inexperienced and we've seen many of them before, so it really doesn't make any sense. In any case, Mix taught us that being a newcomer doesn't mean that you are not good.
