For the first time in my life, I cried out of happiness.
This episode was the perfect ending to an amazing tale. The whole journey was heartwarming, wholesome, sweet, romantic. I'm so thankful to all the members of the cast and the crew who worked on this. Watching the behind the scenes and the interviews every week only made me appreciate this series even more. There's so much love and care poured into this and it shows. It's hands down the best Thai BL I've ever watched and a beautiful love story.
I assume they will explain the meaning of the title in the series, but if you are interested, here is my theory. Please, feel free to correct me if you know more about it and I'm wrong.
Let's go back to the balcony scene in the first teaser for a moment (https://youtu.be/KomVNV7TWXg?t=3944). Mork says "You told me Mueang Nan was like a fish in the sky for you. But you are a fish in the sky for me". The song playing in the background is Getsunova's "Fish in the sky". It's a song about a fish who falls in love with a star and does everything in his power, even the impossible, to get to the sky. The chorus that we hear in the trailer goes like this: "But my heart doesn't listen, it still wants to resist and keep loving you. It resists even though you don't love me back, even though there's no way. But it's stubborn (...), like a fish who insists on going to the sky". The lyrics, the story behind it, the plot of the series... now the meaning of the title is pretty clear: it's a metaphor for Pi and Mork's unrequited loves. Pi is in love with Mueang Nan, while Mork wants to win Pi over. No matter what they'll have to do or endure, they are ready to fight for their romantic dreams to come true, just like the fish from the song.
Such a beautiful analysis, really. Thanks for sharing, Nanakor! ^^
I'm so happy to see you again :D No, I should thank you. After watching episode 9, I was a bit baffled and I didn't know how to react, but your analysis helped me put things in perspective. You really did an amazing job of putting Phupha's feelings and thoughts into words.
I see that our CM community is all here! I watched the raw (and understood close to nothing), but Akaso's performance seemed genuinely good. I think he really fits his role. Very charming.
I must say, you were convincing! I do take the rating into consideration when I look for a new drama to watch. I'll try to break this habit of mine in the future ^^
spoiler alerttttt: in the novel, one of Tian's friends caused the death of Torfun. It was only mentioned early…
Fingers crossed for that plot twist, but they have been giving out too many hints throughout the episodes. Also, in his subconscious, Tian is clearly feeling guilty about something he can't remember (see his dream at the beginning of episode 4)... what else could it be? Waah, I want to cry ; ___ ;
Edit (after episode 7 and the preview): I don't know, I'm very confused now. Maybe it's as people say. They are trying to make us think that it was him, when it actually wasn't.
I don't think he knew it or else he would've felt guilty in head. I heard in the novel, one of his friends was…
Tian's memories about what happened before the heart transplant are clearly blurry, but in his subconscious he IS feeling gullty. Do you remember Tian's dream at the beginning of episode 4? Unfortunately I think they have changed the plot and made Tian the culprit. I'm so anxious now :/
