LOL, those Namping's-acting-haters were obviously wrong before anyway, but I love that they are now going to have to fully eat their own words thanks to this ep (when he has multiple layers of acting going on-- playing Jet who's playing Khem-- and does it perfectly, even right down to body language). 👏👏

The first ep was good and the 2nd was enough to make me want to watch more, then we arrived at the scenes where…
There is no filler in this; if one is paying attention, it's evident that not a single second of any episode is wasted (except for maybe a product placement or two, but that's par for the course with these dramas). There is no big explanation about the religious elements or powers because those are actual real-life belief systems they're utilizing, which Thai people (who are the actual audience for this show) already know about. The powers don't 'develop suddenly,' they're deeply embedded in 1) Thai culture and 2) characterization (both in the moment and via later explanations/flashbacks/etc.). The MC is 'meek' (though not always) because he's been mentally worn down (also very well shown throughout the course of the show). And the romance is more than done justice, it's a realistically character-based slow burn, not just some fluff that goes from love scene to love scene... and it's actually very important, both to the characters and to the story.

To me this is full of filler and I watch this double speed and still have to fast forward. I actually want to…
Filler?? This is an actual proper story, not some by-the-numbers fluff that just goes from one love scene to another or whatever, lol. And believe me, I've read and watched tons of media over the course of my life, and the pacing in this show is absolutely magnificent - if you're paying attention, you'll see that not a single second of any episode is wasted.

Also, as for not dropping stuff, I actually used to have the 'must finish what I start' compulsion about media, too, but finally realized after a number of years that my time, emotional investment, and enjoyment of a work is worth more to me than trying to force myself to finish something I'm really not into. So, I would kindly suggest that you please do both yourself and others a favor and find something else to watch that you will actually enjoy, instead of trying to force yourself through something that you don't. It will feel much better. :)

Yep, Meb has an English translation of this - it's under "Khemjira's Rescue," and there is the main novel, plus a second volume that includes some special chapters. (There's also a lot of untranslated Thai books on there, too, though, so just make sure the title of the book includes the words "English Version" somewhere in it to make sure it's the translated one. :) )

my issue is that you all characterize china this way and say "evil regimes" as if you also don't live…
Not sure what you're rambling on about or why you decided to post this rant under my comment (as most of it doesn't even relate to what I originally said), but as I see you've been doing the same under other comments, too, I hope you enjoy your consequent block. 👋

And now, predictably, the typical cadre of CCP defenders are showing up to argue below... 🤦‍♂️

Look, 'comrades,' the people commenting about this aren't "anti-China," this is literally a Chinese actor we're mourning! But to just blindly accept the CCP's statements (which have been proven to be cover-ups and blatant, provable lies countless times before) when innumerable Chinese citizens themselves are raising red flags and releasing extremely disturbing evidence to the contrary about this situation despite harsh consequences against them, and people in the same building as this actor's death were first given hush money and are now fleeing for their lives in fear, just makes you look plain stupid. And defending evil acts by evil regimes against their own citizens (which, again, even regardless of this specific situation, the CCP government has been proven to have done) will not get you any good reward in the end.

As I mentioned below: My heart breaks for what this poor man went through (both in his career and in his horrific final moments), as well as for his remaining family. While there's unfortunately practically no hope for justice for him or his family while the CCP still reigns, I truly hope his soul is now at least at peace.

Yeah, right... Look, even if this whole situation didn't suspiciously stink to high heaven (which it very clearly does), we should all know full well by now that if the CCP says something supposedly 'didn't happen' and then severely cracks down on any evidence to the contrary, it absolutely DID happen, and (as usual) they're just burying it by hook, crook, propaganda, and outright force.

I've read detailed articles about this whole situation and it's extremely disturbing, to put it mildly. My heart breaks for what this poor man went through (both in his career and in his horrific final moments), as well as for his remaining family. While there's unfortunately practically no hope for justice for him or his family while the CCP still reigns, I truly hope his soul is now at least at peace.
