He secretly uses his family's money and invests in real estate. It turns out to be a scam, and he loses everything...... and he lies and cheats his family about it.
Finally, it all gets exposed, and the wife and son step in to help.
Mad Convrete Dreams ML-FL seem to be a worse edition of Mr. Kim and his wife :)
The similarity is that Mr. Kim tried to solve his problems by secret grandiose actions, just like ML in Mad Concrete Dreams...
A key difference is that Mr. Kim did not actively commit crimes, and his wife and son stepped in to help in very legitimate and honorable ways.
Mad Concrete Dreams seems to be Mr Kim and his wife deciding to solve the financial fiasco by doing shady and falling into criminal activities, somewhat like the couple in Walking on Thin Ice
