Also, you are COMPLETELY trashing Asian dramas and I want you to show some respect to the art. ASIAN DRAMAS ARE NOT ENTIRELY "cliche, tropes and over dramatic scenes" as you keep repeating. Of course there is always trashy stuff, but there is A LOT MORE that Asia has to offer. I just happen to think that it is not likely to be found in cdramas :) and you seem to have an issue with that.

In fact there are TONS of dramas which are not "cliche, tropes and over dramatic scenes" so I challenge you to FIND THEM.

yeah I was thinking the same, he really tried, he wasnt a total con.
He got so beat up by that RichMom and then beat up by MommyGirl too... that yeah... I can see why he wanted out ... but still what he did and esp after ... was plain crime and con artistry. The very last moment were... cringe... since MommyGirl was off the deep end as she became like her Mommy

I agree, ML and FL are very sweet and honest to each other, they talk, when they fight they make up for real, they never brush anything under the rug, they are DEEP, and feel like a very good team husband-wife team already.
We don't see a lot of sexy bc this is a weekend drama and whole families with children will watch this, but the sexy is certainly there too. This is clearly a romantic couple.
I still do not understand why some ppl said there is no romance between the leads. They never explained what specifically they mean by "romance". I think this ML-FL pair is totally soaked in romance.

Se Ri's abandoned daughter (her original name is Veronica) told Woo Ju that he is in love with Eun Bin and not aware of it. I see that he likes Veronica, but I am willing to trust Veronica's insight on his real like.

I noticed on several kdramas, as soon as the plot is moving on and the rating is up, some trolls rate it down. It seems like intentional effort to bring a successful drama down. I am serious. I think it is some kind of "organized crime activity"

There are no dumb characters in the drama
but this weekend started the cringe with the fake boyfriend
Still, it is a pretty solid plot
ML and FL have a good relationship and teamwork, that's why.

I would say 3 out of 10 for misunderstandings and bs. It does not happen too often and it gets resolved fast.
So far - it is the best weekender since 2020 and one of the best ever
But Iron Family was great until like ep 40 and then flopped, Eagle Brothers was promising until ep 20 and then flopped, so we will see :)

I disagree with you, bc Bucket and Stepmom committed a few criminal activities against Gongs, the latest is posting of the golfing video and lying about it.

Gongs never did anything like that. Gongs were always honest.
Yangs just recently started letting go of doing crime, and Stepmom is still hanging onto hating.

Also, the drama criticizes the Gongs too.
Gongs never communicate, live in a hypoicrisy and lies, and always sweep things under the rug...

****There is not much communication or love in Gong family***. Mom and Dad Gong are shown as two hypocrites who NEVER EVER talk about their issues or try to resolve it, and hold grudges forever - while maintaining a pretense front. Gongs are snotty and cruel to each other!
Mom and Dad Gong sleep in separate beds, do not have a real marriage, always fight, etc. and are SO CRUEL to each other.... and do not really pay attention to their family either!!! Dad Gong is totally totally clueless about his kids and wife, and Mom Gong is so cold and distant too and actually keeps fighting and hating her daughter...
SO YEAH THE GONG FAMILY SWEEPS ISSUES UNDER THE RUG AND CONTiNUES to LIVE IN A LIE.

On the other hand - the Yang Mom and Dad are so lovey dovey, hugging in bed, talking honestly every day, forgiving, always making up and supporting each other.

So imo Gong family is a chaos of marital animosity and lies and grudges, and that translates to the kids, and Yang family is a home to a "newlywed couple in love" and so the kids are softer.

However.... StepMom is a lot more vicious than Dr. Han... and quite vicious to anyone who is outside her immediate family. StepMom is a villain to people outside of her circle...
Dr. Han is more consistent in how she treats ppl. FL's dad is also more generous in how he treats people. Gong mom and dad treat outsiders well and mistreat each other lol Yangs are exact opposite lol

Yangs want her to stay... so she is gonna stay .... but ... she needs severe retraining.... so far Yangs didnt do a good job retraining her manipulative control habits and hatred towards Gongs

The little girl FL is such a snowflake and never communicates and bails out at the slighest inconvenience. That is annoying bc it is very toxic behavior and it keeps repeating too many times already. Well, her parents are masters at that...

For example - Why didnt she tell Stepmom what really happened?
Why always hiding info from people close to her? Always secrets..
Why did she dump ML **again** without talking it over??
yeah ML is a (step)mama's boy, so - FL should explain to him how his dear stepmom really behaves, clearly and calmly talk it over... and if he refuses to listen, THEN dump him.
Doing this jo-jo roller coaster of just yelling mean things at ML, dumping him, then making up, over and over and over again... so frequently .... is getting ... to be too much.
Time to grow up, young lady! It is ep 22 already :)

Bc she SAID she is repaying him for saving her. So he thinks she wants to take him out on a business lunch, as a business favor, not because she likes him.
That hurts him bc he takes it as an indirect rejection.... .He now thinks she does not see him as a person but only as a competent police officer. He likes her and does not realize she likes him too. SO HE REJECTS HER BEFORE SHE CAN OPENLY DISPLAY FRIENDZONING HIM. But he is dumb bc he does not have enough info yet to already (falsely) conclude that he has been friendzoned already.
Also, he is too dumb and cowardly and refuses to take this chance and show her he is not a friendzone material.

He is ... slow and insecure to read the room about love :)
Also he has a point.. Bc there is an existing business relationship between them, the transition to a personal relationship has to be done carefully....

So in short - there are only two solutions to this:
1. she invite him out personally, outside of his work hours, when she sees him in street clothing, and she ask him out bc she likes him.
But for her to be that bold, she has to have some hint that he likes her :) Perhaps the older detective could brokerage their meeting.

(2) she can invite him to do an official "project" together, just the two of them (for example, he comes to check on some safety issue, they distribute flyers, etc) and thenm while working together, she discreetly checks him out ... she could wink at him and see if he winks back :)

Details:
THe policeman is too dumb and too proud and too cowardly weak and does not realize her invite is an opportunity to use this supposedly business lunch as an excuse to see each other, just the two of them, on his day off, as two people... .... and test out the waters and find out for sure if they like each other or not

He is too chicken to give her that OPENING, that chance to show him/ tell him she likes him :) So instead of going there to find out for sure how she feels, he already wrote her off.

He is correct though that going on a business lunch to repay the police work is a tricky issue. He has to be careful that she doesnt gossip around or other ppl dont see them and talk about how she repayed him for his policing service with personal favors.

He cannot ask her out bc he is a policeman so it is very tricky and could be seen as abuse of his professional role.
And she is afraid to tell him she likes him bc she doesnt know that he likes her and she is afraid to alienate a good police officer for their hood... .... .

But their meeting at the movies was her chance :)

And FL's dad is so .... easily combustive! and rash... and unforgiving... Bucket saved his life...

But the main problem is lack of communication. These adults cannot open their mouth and SAY what they need to say (Bucket, FL to Stepmom);
or are unwilling to listen to the other side and just bail out (FL to ML, FL's dad, FL's mom)
or are slimey manipulators who just shut up the other side and get their way (FL's mom, Stepmom)

Honey, there is no cure for banal comments like yours - what you wrote is 100% contradictory, illogical and so passive aggressive - you are complaining about the CONTENT - which you call "empty banal nonsense" - so you will never be happy no matter how it is written.... bc .. There are SO MANY QUESTIONS I would love to ask - for example, why ppl think that ML and FL are not arrogant?? bc they are rich and pretty??? but their behaviors....
