All joking aside, let’s talk about Kinn for a moment. Anyone that knows me knows that I am a diehard Kinn Porsche Stan. These two are my end game. Kinn has been raised all his life to a position of responsibility for the family legacy. He is surrounded by enemies and constantly has to prove his strength and superiority. Certain as yet undefined events have deepened his mistrust in general. In short, he feels he has to be cold, ruthless and never reveal any weakness. But Porsche has been poking holes in that facade since day 1 effortlessly. There is no question that Kinn is fond of Porsche, possessive and fascinated, right? Now…the morning after, did y’all notice how vulnerable Kinn was? He feels guilt and fear for what he has done and how Porsche will respond. To him, Porsche telling him to leave him alone was a rejection. He’s gay and he knows Porsche is straight. This isn’t the first time he expected Porsche to be disgusted with him. So he retreats to the role of boss. So many times he is compelled to seek Porsche out and quarrel with him, but to protect himself, he keeps making the point that Porsche has no power over him. That he’s replaceable. That’s because he is absolutely, 100% the opposite. Pete’s advice was a godsend. And we start to see Kinn follow his heart. Try to meet Porsche halfway. Be vulnerable in the face of his love for once in his life. It’s beautiful how the show encapsulated so much of the struggle these two go through in a few scenes. That scene where Porsche comes home after being out with Vegas…where he insinuates that Kinn hurt him and the desolate look in Kinn’s eyes…. These two men are brilliant actors. This is a beautiful love story.
