Man, the two male leads are really good looking. I came for the premise but kinda get distracted by how good looking they are.
Also I thought that Kayashima and Hatano is endgame when I watched the scene at the train station. But bro ran away to save Shirahama and gave a whole speech (i.e., confession) about how Shirahama has saved his life countless time. Almost thought we would have a dark horse endgame lol. Would watch if they have a BL drama together.
I like season 2 but feel that Mio kinda loses part of her character growth in this season. In terms of the storyline, I get what they are going for. But I would much prefer if they go much deeper into social issues corrupting both humans and yokais, and show how not all issues can be resolved through yokai's powers, rather than having a generic big bad. But I won't be surprised these issues came up due to the shorter runtime compared to the last season.
I know Japanese dramas are stylistically very different from other Asian dramas but based on all the other jdramas…
Personally, I think the acting is super mild (i.e. way more realistic) compared to the other Japanese dramas I have watched. Then again, I mainly watched Japanese dramas with comedy aspects.
Just in case anyone is confused, I think the special is set before the movie and tell the story where the killing game didn't happen like in the original drama.
