for a fantasy or fictional drama, it's important for the viewer to feel like they're in the world of these characters, but goblin fails to do that in the first episode. The characters are bland, it's so surprising considering that this is DOTS writer who wrote such charming characters before. I really hope it improve on these aspects, it still got potential. At least the visuals and cinematography are amazing.
Not a perfect drama, but it was extremely enjoyable drama to watch. I'm now a fan of the writer Seo Sook Hyang and acknowledging Jo Jung Seok's talent as an actor. The rest of the cast did a pretty good job too.

Reply 1988 was the best. I knew that the production would do well on family theme. Reply 1997 was about romance , R1994 develops more characters for friendship, and finally R1988 is about family in which the other two always did have, but was never deeply explored. This one I just love because I could definitely connect and understand the characters.
It's sad to know that you didn't like sunwoo. He is like the son that every mom would want and I really like him for it.
I thought junghwan was going to be the husband and got disinterested for awhile because it would be boring to know who the husband is while taek becomes another sad character. I'm glad that I didn't drop it.
I say it's not that amazing, but I can't get over it? Dots sure is overrated, but it's definitely something. It was very well produced, the visuals are great, and it's a breezy drama. But it didn't really have a story. Then I realize that it didn't need to, I could watch just for the characters because these were characters who are good people who did their jobs as doctors and soldiers. I think the writer was conveying that kind of drama. It made me feel good about humanity and all even though it did felt like some sort of propaganda.
One thing that I also noticed in Korean dramas is that most main female characters are poor, not so smart, but they are bright, and kind. While the 2nd female leads who are pretty, ambitious, and successful are selfish and unlikable. I feel that Korean dramas try to downgrade successful women. If women are successful with life and career, they can't get love, is that it? So sometimes I do feel that Korean dramas side with women who are the opposite of the attractive girl and make the attractive girl as a greedy monster.
I agree with you on You Who Came from the Star. The romance was okay and the drama had no story.
I love Reply 1997. I was a little bummed to see it on this list. But when you stated why you didn't like it, you make good points about the drama. The drama was about students going to school and their daily life to the present with no real plot. For me, it was a good drama because my inner self could relate to the craziness that was Shi Won (lol), the entertaining relationships between characters, the comedy, and overall depiction of the 90s in Korea.
But, wow, thank you for making this. Sometimes when people dislike a drama that I like, but don't ever explain why they do I get kind of aggravated. I want to know the reason because then I could conclude whether this drama is really bad, or maybe it's wasn't just their type of drama.

The best Reply series, but not my favorite (mine is still reply 1997). I could relate to this very much. The three families of the alley had characteristics like mine, so it reminded me of a time of my life. It's a really good drama that tells you about family.
please somebody tell me a good reason why teak is the husband cause i am confused asf
She always had a special relationship with Taek. She's not like this to the other guys and she also shared many moments with him. Once she saw that he really was a man, all sorts of feeling or realization can come up. Basically Deoksun actions and reactions are the key to finding the husband.
