I like very much the passion you show in this article. I found that the best part of it. I think both countries have their own charm. And they contribute differently. I don't even see the point in comparing them. Japan seems to export more literature and Korea idols. Japan has all those legendary movie directors and films and Korea now has those too. They provide very different atmospheres. And personally, I've been to both countries and I liked Korea, but Japan blew my mind. And there's also the great and wonderful anime that we all grew up with and that seems to influence some j-dramas, and for me that's great fun.. Oh and there's the wonderful Studio Ghibli and their insightful, critical and magical stories. But Korea has Ji Chang Wook...
I read this review before starting the drama, since you mentioned you're not in to romcoms I thought, that's why you didn't like it so much. I don't really mind when they get early in the relationship, but there's more going on. You were right...I was really bored. I liked more the side couples specially Yang and Bong, and the kidnapping, felt too much. Specially on her side. All in all I also like them a lot but it took some effort to finish.
Just finished and left me... in shock. I am in awe!. this is an amazing drama. It was pretty stressful though! And it's bloody, not GOT bloody but on that range. But oh wow!...
I was expecting more... the age difference bothers me... maybe cause I'm in my 40's and not my 20's. but why did the goblin bride had to be some one so young, I dreaded the kisses a little... Maybe I'm agist, and didn't know it... but women being the older one never bothers me. The bromance was great, but... I was expecting sooo much more.
Oh, yeah, I kinda blocked that one. I kept hoping he'd somehow come back. But the two week thing, how I see it, couldn't be helped, he wasn't going to defect because of his high ranking father it might have been devastating for his family. I also would have loved that to be different. I have to say, this is the first time I've ever engaged in a conversation about any drama ever! Your my first!. This is like a whole secret world for me, non of my friends have ever watched and they're all so surprise with my new addiction... ;)
I didn't watch it before cause I couldn't stand Hyun Bin's smug face... now I have a crush on him!. I know it's not realistic at all, for starters who goes to Switzerland to eat Kit Kat's!!??. But Hyun Bin's accent in German was not bad!. It is a great K-drama, with it's epic love story, enough mixture of comedy and drama, the one character you can fast forward (Seo Dan's mom), the super lovable support characters, the horrible family members, the super tragic background of one or both of the leads. It is just one of those!.
