Beautiful and painful all in one episode

The lovemaking was the best in this episode, then that ending. Just break my heart, why don't you? King screwed up badly.

I watched smiling the whole time

This was the sweetest episode by far. Both of them are free to express their feelings and they're together out side of the house. The seaside jaunt was so so cute. And that dance!!

He acknowledges there's something

Qian Fei reads JiaXu so well. That momentary silence was enough of a clue, and I was really glad that JiaXu can finally acknowledge his own feelings toward Sang Zhi are changing. His protectiveness towards her has always existed but he was more straightforward about it, always explaining to her why. With the last scene, he was panicked about reaching her timely before Jiang Ying could, but he didn't explain his request for her not to randomly show up at his work or home. Had he mentioned Jiang Ying's presence, it would have made sense to her. His own convoluted feelings and increased over-protectiveness are not doing him any good.

Rundu Battle

Xiao Jue recognizes He Yan as the classmate he admired for her integrity in the classroom, speaking up for the weak and says to her, "You haven't changed." He finally knows and understands her full story and will stand by her no matter what their future holds.

Mini-review

The beginning gave me a Pride and Prejudice vibe, Chinese style. Now, we're on the co-habitation trope. I can already see Shou Hua (first sister) is the one who fancies Du Yang Xi just based on his poetry. Now that she has saved him, I think there's a more of a connection.

Song Han has two sides

He presents a mild side to his brother but he is really his father's son with a wild ambition. I don't believe he would have poisoned his and Song Mo's mother on purpose because he seemed very attached to her; his grief at her loss seemed genuine. But if he has grown up a psychopath, we just can't judge him correctly; he would be so good at hiding his evil side.

True feelings

Finally, their true feelings are out. And it seems she has been his comfort for 20 years. I can see how that would make her his weakness. I love the sports competitions - Baek Sa Eon and Hong Hee Joo were really competitive. They were there to win.

Several reveals

Baek Sa Eon had been hiding his wife for her safety because she IS his weakness. As it turns out, he was telling the truth at that birthday shindig. And during the pre-wedding phone call between him and Hong In A where she says, she's doesn't want to go through the arranged marriage; otherwise, she'll reveal his secrets, he tells her it will happen anyway, but not with her, with her sister Hee Joo instead (he was trying to protect Hee Joo from an undesirable arranged marriage). Then, that last line, when Baek Sa Eon finally utters the magic words, "She's my wife." I actually got butterflies in my belly.

Rooftop scene

That final rooftop scene felt like a gut punch to me. I mean I was confused when he gave up school because I felt like Shin was the most important to him, and sure enough - we get that scene. When Saint said those words, I viscerally felt it and tears just ran down my face. Sky and Nani's acting has really impressed me. Their faces are so expressive.

Heartbroken

DoHoe seems to be blaming JuYeong for something, but instead of coming out and saying what it is, DoHoe just said I'm not interested in why you did that then just ghosted him. Now, he's saying, I didn't want to tell you where I am because you might misunderstand. What is that? It's like he's denying their joint history, making JuYeong feel stuck in the past and unable to move on because he was unable to get closure. I think the reason JuYeong continued to visit DoHoe's father was because he was the only connection he had to DoHoe after DoHoe abandoned him. In the end, they probably needed each other, one whose son abandoned him and one whose parents abandoned him.In high school, it was obvious HyeonHo liked DoHoe. It looks like he sought him out in university and was the only one who was in touch with him. They might even be dating now, so DoHoe didn't want JuYeong to look for him anymore despite their dreams together. I still think DoHoe should have been straightforward and told JuYeong his reason for staying away.

I love all their interactions

Seeing all their interactions: date to see Seoul, eat together, support each other's dreams. It was so heartwarming. Ugh, but that Dad was the worst ever. How could a community support that kind of behavior?

"I can't live without you"

So, they actually confessed to each other in this episode, but it felt flat. Before, it was employee-employer with benefits and Pat didn't always know where he stood in Elyes's life/priorities. But, now, we have Elyes saying, "I can't live without you." Isn't that more than saying, "I love you?"

Progressive take

I'm liking this version so much more. Instead of Aim cheating with so many guys, she's portrayed more like Phun, who's accepting his sexuality more but after being in a relationship. Of course, the ideal course of action would have been if Aim and Phun broke up first before pursuing other people. Then, we have Gracey, formerly Golf, who I'm assuming is transgender. In the OG 2014 version, Golf was also the one who outed Aim's behavior to Noh. Lastly, Yuri and Noh are not dating in this version which makes more sense. I never understood why they did in the OG version except that Noh was a bit of a pushover and Yuri was insistent.

Xeu Ji for the win

She's an awesome Empress, just learning to not be in her family's shadow and just healing from their abuse, but eventually, she'll learn to fly, I hope. I also hope the Emperor will learn to love her for who she is.

Took long enough

I was so reluctant to watch this episode. My heart could not take her rejection of him, again and again. So happy they finally realized what they valued most in life.
