nah cuz i understand thai BL does not have good CGI out there to compare things to but y'all saying this has one…
🎯 It really was a downward slide at the end. It was as you say- just ok. Honestly, coming to the end I watched to see how more outlandish it could be. I have never seen a nc scene with more posturing than passion. Production wise it was a decent try. It says alot when the support actors felt more natural interacting with each other than the main. (Gap, Poom, Tack) Babe is a newbie, so expected. I think what helped garner more popularity for the show was Billy and Babe's real life personalities and Saint's support.
Gosh, I didn't know how much I missed them until this. I didn't miss hearing P'Yu every 5 seconds but seeing them all so happy was a nice ending to their story. Yu teasing Ai all the way through ended like how they began, which was nice.
Despite all the controversies surrounding their relationship, it was beautiful. There was one nagging thought concerning the script. Qian kept questioning what he really felt for Yuan. Did he love him as a brother or did he want him as a lover? Simple solution: Qian needed to check below his waist. Did he have a desire to sleep with his "brother" or not? The flip flopping was becoming tedious. The moment Yuan started to affect his pulse rate was the first sign. Or was he confused that he would be called a pervert? Had he been the pursuer, it would have been a resounding yes. Yuan certainly didn't have an issue, so.....
I was not repulsed with the storyline as it gave them 5 years apart, to grow and become what they needed to be for each other. In that time, Yuan could have changed his mind but didn't. He came back determined and a better strategist. Qian was never interested in another person male or female and only reacted to Yuan.
Do not waste your time or spoil movie night. The script was not the best and was compounded my Mew's inability to act the part. Don't get me wrong, TharnType still gets to me, he did good with Gulf and I felt that role perfectly suited him. But this shall be archived with A Secretly Love: never to be revisited, spoken of or acknowledged in any way. Erased from memory.
If you want to see 12 episodes of Mew with a constipated, non interactive gripe on his face, with no chemistry with his co-star, who I might add did way better in terms of acting, in an odd script for 12 year olds. Then this is for you.
If you want a decent Korean Thai mix, try Peach of Time. You can thank me later.
I think second leads are also underage but they kissed... I remember, when they are having sport event at school.
Thailand: The legal age for consenting to sexual activities is set at 15. Legal adulthood, on the other hand, is acknowledged from the age of 20 onward. While the minimum age for marriage consent is established at 17.
This was nice....just nice. I watched this show for three people: Big/God - always liked him and he delivered. Grandpa - a sweet heart Bui/Proud - fun to watch
Message was received but too slooooow and serene at times. Diew's personality overshadowed it. I said message because there was no real plot. Could have wrapped this up in 8-10 episodes.
Wan has to be THE most irritating and confused person ever.
This is not it. Definitely not it. The entire production team should be fired and be hired in a butcher shop. I actually cannot believe, a series as important as this, was left to be cut in so many parts, that nothing resembles each other. It was pure determination that I endured to the end. At this point A Secretly Love could be a masterpiece compared to this and that was baaaaad!!!!! After watching A&H, it would have been easier to be on a small boat during a storm in the middle of the ocean with one paddle.
Cons.... 1. Poor script 2. Poor translation at times 3. Choppy scenes 4. Why place an adult with a minor to make a film with adult themes and can not do adult scenes? I'm not speaking of nc scenes. Attraction / passion / desire. Casting was horrible. 5. Main actors could have done more workshops. Infact, the entire cast. 6. Terrible direction. 7. Inconsistent storylines. 8. The distance between main and second leads are oceans apart. Pop and Hero look college age and Tiger and Only look like babies. How are they in the same class? How were they connected again? Never mind, that's one brain cell I saved. Not worth knowing. 9. Pop mother and step father - even they, didn't have any chemistry. 10. What is the purpose of having a special episode and season 2 when the first one was so horrible. Give the money to charity rather that creating a greater abomination. 11. So no reasonable conclusion for Tiger and Only. Poof....disappear ? 12. Putting two good looking people together do not make chemistry. How well you interact and feed off of each other, makes the chemistry. Pop's father had more chemistry with his second wife and child than they did. Again, because of the limited interaction. 13. Uncut means what exacly? That Hero can use the word sex in a sentence? That his father can shoot at him? Not once but twice? 14. Mac's / Poppy's nasal monotone delivery was not doing anything to his presence. 16 is relatively young so he has time to get better.
Pro: 1. The scene where Pop goes to apologizes outside Hero's condo and Hero quietly walks up to him and holds the food with him. 2. Ep 10 when Hero is in the attic and Pop says he will starve with him and sleep on the grass for him. 3. August and Mac are good looking. 4. Whatever they paid Poppy's father wasn't enough, he actually made it better. Pop and his father delivered in this role as parent and child.
Yup, that's it. I was hoping with each episode they would capture some charm like the original or even SWM but no, this complete mess should NEVER be visited again. And when I say never, I do mean never. Can't help but feel with a better cast and production team this could have been magical. Sigh.
Why, for God's sake, would this be unacceptable now?! On which planet do you live?
Would you consider it acceptable for an older teacher to break the boundaries and have relations with a teenage student under his care? This is called grooming.
For clarity: Unacceptable means against the law and social norms.
This was the couple that made me watch Tai BL. The way Pond looked at Phuwin. ❤️
🎯 on your take of this series. They were newbies and the script was meh so it wasn't that great. But...... When Palm yelled out in pain 😢 When he kissed Nueng the first and second time? When he instantly fired back without hesitation. Nueng doing the most to get Palm to be his bf Their level of chemistry 💥
I haven't watched We Are after the first episode because in every other show they had, it didn't match this. I think they've fallen into the ForceBook syndrome. Being too comfortable with each other. The only reason I will watch it is for AouBoom. Enough of the school dramas. They need scripts that put them in situations of urgency.
Chimon is not a bl actor and it shows. I may catch some flack for this but he should only do asexual roles. There is no warmth. Perth on the other hand is very flexible. He did great here.
At the time I gave them a 9/9.5 just because of PondPhuwin. Yes, I am weak, I know 😏
For a little context: Before 2020, 13 was the age of consent. The teacher first saw him in a gay bar at night in regular clothes and dark lighting. Only on returning to school did he realize the truth. Woo relentlessly pursues Hoon to the point of blackmail. Woo is not portrayed as a child with childish feelings. He knows himself. Hoon keeps his distance but struggles with his feelings for the self aware determined student. This entire story is done in 2012. The controversial parts are the teacher - student relationship, gay and age gap.
If this is frowned on in this show, why was it acceptable with Mr Sahara & Toki-Kun and Does The Flower Bloom?
I suggest you watch the show with an open mind, captured in the year it was filmed and judge.
If I have to sell a kidney to fund part 2, I'm doing it.
Hey, before the brother's throat remember he had a morning salute, so cut him some slack. Or them shorts. Tian had me sweating 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why you wanna do Benny like that? Xi needs that rubber chicken. And yes, that english teacher needs to have several seats. Blind people could see what was between them.
The only issue I had with the ending was that Wang told him that he would always be honest with him. I didn't expect a "wo ai ni" but to switch lanes and blind side him...nah. But honestly, I still loved it because had they covered them reaching to that point, season two 🤞🤞wouldn't have the expectation it has.
Okay, after reading your review, I'm not so sad anymore. Always put a smile on my face 😁😁😁
At first I was so angry that he cheated with the ex, but then I understand, and your insight of it is on point,…
OMG, I was speechless! Like mourn the loss of 10 years of friendship for at least 2 min out of respect. I blinked and they were cuddling like "Min Ji, who". I was picturing Jeong Ha snapping his fingers saying, "That's my man". Dae Young needed to be slapped with your "rubber chicken" for being so weak. 😆😆 They really did deserve each other.
Great review and insight. How they both showed love was different but every effective. In that scene when Keito…
Thank you 😊
As much as I tried to prepare myself, the last two episodes brought out the waterworks. Keito crying had me saying "My poor baby". I especially loved their end and the end. Felt complete.
Tonkla was the sh*t! He knew how to get what he wanted and when he wanted. I believe he was playing a game of survival at the end. Win was playing by the rules which he and the black cat didn't like. Poor Win all that raw dogging to lose in the end. I don't know why I felt sorry for him.
Great set up his parents so that they wouldn't return at all. They would be on the run for life. I didn't like Tyme because he looked devoid of any true feelings. Only granny got a little warmth. The sex between them was as cold as his expression. Even at the end, I didn't feel it with Great. 8 episodes of confusion.
What was confusing was if the 4 min was the matrix, how could Great not change his future? So then the 4 min was just wishful thinking about his past? So when Tyme was breaking up with the Dr, was granny alive or dead? Because she told him to bring granny for treatment? Wasn't granny supposed to be already dead? They tried to clean up this show with a very dirty mop. Gave more questions than answers.
There were actors that made me still watch to the lame romantic end cause there was no romance between Great and Tyme. Just suspicions and booty calls. Bible, Bas and Fuaiz were the ones that brought the best in every scene. I especially like Bas' facial when the girl told him to give up Fuaiz and the whole shoot out scene. Bible, well it's Bible, his penetrative eyes and versatility. Fuaiz, the manipulative crazy was understood.
Looking forward to you next review cause I'm always smiling all the way through.

One of the best for 2024 for sure.
History 4: Close To You Taiwan
(One of the two couples. Has a controversial alcohol induced sexual act, be warned)
