After H and XB, the doctor brought life to this story. He was like that old aunt who had lived so long that they said what they felt whenever they felt to whomever without caring and usually it's some funny shit. Loved him.

Hear me out, why was XB so traumatized after H jealous punishment at the brothel. H probably flipped the script and XB couldn't handle it. Just a theory...

Daou and Offroad have a natural chemistry that topples over and it shows. There is no one else in the room when they're on screen well except you know who......sigh. There are some couples that sadly just fall flat after being together in a previous series together (JoongDunk), they didn't.

Joe got a new life. He didnt have to hide or anything but as soon as he needed help, he was back in Ming's bed. He refused his friend's help but accepted Ming's because the man knew how to make him sneeze. I'm so sure had he looked around, others would have made him sneeze, and do it face to face. Joe's one of those people that feels abuse is the norm. I can accept Ming's attraction to the back but not the verbal abuse for no apparent reason. The feeble apology did not even come close. Sol was perfectly cast because he could never be a better candidate in terms of presence than Ming. That's the only reason. They put someone who only looked like a brother than a lover else everyone would have rooted for him instead.
Re-watch value: I do not have the patience.
What I liked: The pacing wasn't rushed. The acting believable. The story good.
What I didn't like: Sticking to an abusive relationship as a means to an end with the expectation that all will work out in the end and true love will forgive and win is a poor message to send out to the world. People are dying off of that mindset in reality. Ming's character could have been better written. He could have been blinded by Tong's back without being abusive to Joe. At some point, Joe should have insured his back as everyone took aim at it, even the criminals.

You are correct. He said that he told his manager he did not want to do bl. He said "he" changed his mind when he heard it was Perth for Dangerous Romance. If this is a genre he is not comfortable with, he has the right to refuse. The suspicious part centers around his depression which affects everyone differently. He and his doctors alone will know what he can or cannot handle. So how can he be sure he can be well enough to do Hide & Sis? I stand behind his departure if this is a field he is not comfortable with and it's best for all that he is allowed to choose and not "encouraged" to continue.
The only thing that is intriguing to me is how 2 previous tops will handle the roles without it coming off as a power struggle. Their skills as actors will be put to the test to show credibility. Waiting.
I thoroughly enjoyed your critique and am in full agreement especially about the risks taken for the time period. Yai's sister was a big turn-off for me as there was an inconsistency: firstly she was against the 2nd wife coming, then it was revealed this was her plan, then she was angry with her. I was like: If you don't want your husband, (which was totally understandable), shut up. Another point that I didn't understand: he had 2 wives and wasn't expected to have sex with either one... seriously. They both acted like they were supposed to be ornaments and to be admired. While his behavior towards them was despicable, that was unrealistic. I supposed it was used to make him more unlikeable.
I gave it 8.5 just for Jom and Yai story, production and Bright and Nonkul's acting.
I haven't finished it. Watching my bare wall was more exciting. Ohm killed what could have been a simple but nice BL. He has never acted better than a mannequin and its not from being paired with Fluke who has more animation as an actor. By ep 3 I was begging Peach to like Guy. If only actors were hired for skill and not only face. The grandmother initially was sweet but soon turned me off. Continually too sweet. Poor writing. Poor directing. Terrible actor Ohm.
