The last couple of episodes (11 and 12) have made me cry more than I have in a long time.
Throughout the series, I have loved the connection between the two main actors as well as their characters, Thame and Po. But these last two eps left me STUNNED by their incredible acting and the genuine feeling of deep soulfulness between them.
I'm not sure I have felt this way about any other drama, BL or otherwise, ever before. William and Est have something on screen that I can't describe any other way except "magic." And if I'm honest, while Est is an experienced (and very good) actor, the feeling I have is largely because of William. This is his first series, and he just has....."it." Whatever "it" is, he has it, and I am so glad he and Est were paired together. Together they just elevate everything, even in the most subtle of ways.
With only one episode left, I am putting all of my feelings and hopes out there, trusting that the directors will finish up the series in a way that is truly befitting of the story and the love between Thame and Po. I am TRUSTING them (I hope they hear me!!), and I don't know if I will survive the heartbreak if they let me down.
The age gap between Lu Hui and Yu Xing is not easy to accept - mostly because of the student-teacher thing, which feels icky.
But worse than that - MUCH worse - is the fact that Lu Hui's character is BEYOND ridiculous. SO, SO, SOOOOO badly written.
Why in the WORLD does the script have him acting like a 3 year old throwing a tantrum all the time??? HOW IN THE WORLD are we viewers supposed to believe that he's attractive - or even more questionable - SEXY ???? in any way to a potential partner when he acts that way? Especially to Yu Xing, who (if calculations are correct based on the information given in the series) is in his late 20s at the very least???
Even with the age gap, if Lu Hui were a MATURE senior in high school, it would be so much easier to watch and potentially accept.
But what the script writer has done is unforgivable, to be honest. The way Lu Hui's character has been written is such a massive turn off, it pretty much ruins the series because it makes me - and maybe others, too - feel like, because of the way Lu Hui acts, Yu Xing's character is doing something unconscionable and even illegal by having sexual relations with an actual CHILD.
There's not a fandom in this world - Korean, Thai or otherwise - that wouldn't have IMMEDIATELY revolted when they saw the group being blindsided by their manager like that, especially if it happened on live television.
The look of utter shock and betrayal on the members' faces would have caused a fandom MELTDOWN with immediate consequences for the company, its stock market value, loss of ticket and merch sales, negative press, fandom picket lines and other public demonstrations......etc.
Ming Yu and Xiao Shan are the second couple, but they don't get a whole lot of screen time. ---------------------------------------------------------------- CORRECTION: the second couple is Qin Mingyu and Duan Rou.
But does anyone else think PJ actually looks like Bas (Bas Hatsanat Piniwat from Fourever You)? They could easily play brothers in a series.
But then.......
I almost missed it. THERE'S A FINAL SCENE AFTER THE CREDITS.

EDIT: I just saw that this series is also Cha Jung Woo's first drama as well. The casting director found some good actors!
I hope the script writer(s) see these comments and realize they could have done so much better.
And I hope they NEVER write another young character / age gap story this way, specifically, ever again.

Considering P10L is the first series where they are portrayed as a couple, I am very impressed.
I just wonder if GMMTV will keep them as a couple. I think the company initially considered it an experimental pairing, not an official one.

Not a spoiler - just a heads up:
After the last episode is over, there's a scene AFTER the credits. Don't miss that.
