I like how annoying but smart and strangely empathetic Yu-jin is about SELECT things. She has quite an interesting personality.
And I like the very awkward but apparent chemistry she has with Min-jae. He keeps getting caught off guard by her, but he's being pulled in despite his best efforts to draw a line.
Also.......I think the math professor is interested in Yu-jin, too.
A few of the comments here crack me up. Some of the commenters that find the lab team irritating have obviously not spent much time around students / academics / employees in STEM fields.
The nerdy / introverted / eccentric / obsessive / no idea how to act around girls lab guys seen in the series are pretty close to real life.
My first boyfriend had a Masters in Physics, and he and I hung out with his lab partners quite often. They were exactly like the guys in the series, LOL.
My husband works in the field of space communications. When he was still in college, he and I often hung out with his lab partners and their friends (a few other space guys but also several engineers) and they were just as quirky.
And now that my husband has been out in the field as an employee for many years, I've gotten to know his coworkers, and yep........they are just as funny / weird.
(Not all of them, of course. I won't generalize and say all STEM ppl are like that. But many are.)
I was an athlete and was raised in a family of wildlife biologists and environmental conservationists. A very different world. So at first, I found it difficult to relate to the STEM/lab people.
But once I got used to them and their social awkwardness, they were actually pretty cool.
I think she feels herself starting to like Min-jae but just wasn't emotionally prepared for the reality about his leg.
She might also be remembering a conversation she had with her family in Ep 2:
Dad: "I mean, it's okay if you date. It's okay. Just let me meet the guy first."
YJ: "Okay."
Dad: "I don't ask for much. Just someone who's hardworking, respects his elders, and is healthy, with all four limbs intact. Other than that, I don't ask for anything."
Mom: (laughing) "What do you mean, all four limbs? Who doesn't have all four limbs?"
Brother: "Some people don't. You know, people with disabilities."
But she's not listed as part of the cast for "Between Steps," and I don't see a profile for her on MDL. Very weird, since she's playing such a prominent role.
I said the actor in The Missing Piece looks similar to the actor in Love in the Clouds and could have played that role just based on looks and body type.
That's also why I specifically mentioned each actor's name, which shows I know they are not the same person.

What if our perception of the real story is backwards? What if He Yao lied?
Lin Zhai can't possibly be the only person who's been found to be immune to the zombie virus. There have to be at least a few others. I'm thinking A Lie was not the only agent sent out to find them. The agents probably just went in different directions to search.
What if the lab A Lie was supposed to take Lin Zhai to was an ETHICAL lab who were doing legit research to find a cure and protecting their test subjects because they know how valuable they are?
What if He Yao was the unhinged researcher who was willing to be as unethical as he needed to be to save his adopted brother / lover but the lab caught on to that? And he ran before they could totally stop him?
Maybe that's why those soldiers were hunting for him in the airport? Because he's actually extremely dangerous?
He Yao has already shown us that he lies easily, is willing to drain every bit of Lin Zhai's blood, and is hiding the fact that he's not giving Lin Zhai's brother any of the blood, but instead giving it all to Chang Huan (who does not seem to know what He Yao is really doing and would be horrified, I suspect).

It's much more likely that Athit (Chita's original True Love from 48 years ago) died as a result of Chita's fire-that-kills-Nours power accidentally activating in the middle of his transformation.
Whatever magical, supernatural force it was that created Nours in the first place probably integrated that power into Chita because both he and Athit were actually ON FIRE (because of the candle that fell over and started the fire) when Athit did the heart-bite thing. Because of the circumstances, Chita was probably the first Nour to ever have that power.
As far as Prae (Pear).......

We have no idea how old she was. She looked young, but she could have already been a Nour for many years before we met her in the series.

And since James is only part-Nour (he only ever exhibited 2 Nour-related things - his eyes turned blue occasionally, and he could see "soul colors" - but he had no other powers and he never needed to consume blood to survive), that tells us that his mother was human. We're just never given any info about her.
When you strip away the lore, NOUR was never truly about vampires, supernatural bloodlines, or an ego-driven power…
