First episode was a bit underwhelming but it got interesting and hooked me starting with episode 2. The series keeps getting better with each episode. I might be in the minority but I hope romance doesn’t overshadow the revenge plot line.

I’m worried we won’t see him for years because court cases tend to take so long to finish. Isn’t the agency he is with the owner is a very prominent figure within the entertainment industry? I’d hate if he won the case but got black listed and no one will hire him.

That is great news! I’m hoping now that she’s joined a studio we will get to see her upcoming project very soon. Hopefully this is the studio that will promote and treat her well and not put her on the sidelines.

Agreed. KJW is one of my fav actresses and I find she gets overlooked way too often and is so underrated. But I do like the fact that she is selective in her projects so it would take time to see her in a new project.

Yesss! I was a bit anxious it would turn into the typical trope of the girl becoming evil and horrible but thankfully she didn’t. I am hoping it continues this way.

Currently on episode 8 and it is so nice and refreshing to not have to see any horrible or nasty female characters because of their crush/like for the ML. Loving how nice and supportive the female characters are!

What’s going to happen to this drama with Crystal Yuan and her scandal with tax evasion?

I put it on hold because I wasn’t in the mood to watch this but she seems to be showing signs of becoming less annoying.

I haven’t seen the latest two episodes yet but reading comments there doesn’t seem to be any change in the plot or characters for it to go downhill… I have seen some dramas ratings dropping for a day and then it goes back up so I’m hoping this is the case rather than people randomly giving it a low score for some unknown reason.

Ah true I never thought about the international fans from the east and I also guess there will be children younger than 16 that watches as well.

That is one reason I dislike American series because it is typical and generic and would be very awkward to watch with parents lol. I do like cdrama and kdrama as they don’t have that many explicit sex scenes. Only painful thing I see in most cdramas are the kiss scenes is awkward.

Tbh it seems some actors and actresses have a strong international fan base so they tend to rate dramas highly only for that reason.

Agree I am not a fan of the rom com genre for that reason especially modern set times dramas. Only modern rom coms which is a few I liked are kdramas. For cdrama I prefer historical setting but in the past (recent years it has gotten slightly better) they always give the drama a horrible ending or things just drag and it isn’t enjoyable to watch.

Agreed I watch because of the characters and plot.

Although I know a lot of idol or cheesy rom com dramas with bad acting, characters and plot are popular with international fans and prob why you see a stark difference in rating on MDL being highly rated and Douban being low.

Lol if anything I’d say it is not well known drama internationally because international fans don’t know the main actor and actress well.

Zhang Ruo Yun would be great. I’ve only ever seen Chen Fei Yu in Ever Night but he acted well in that drama. It does seem like LYF is back in the scene with acting in dramas so she will have plenty future opportunities with great actors.

I did check WYB’s page and he has a lot of movies with talented experienced actors and actresses e.g. Zhou Dong Yu, Zhou Xun and Tony Leung so I’m hoping his acting will have improved.

Lol frowny but agree he is too wooden. Hu Ge would also be great as well and it’ll be a nice reunion with them since they started in Chinese Paladin together. I was hoping LYF would continue to work with high calibre actors.

That would be such a spectacular pairing! I just checked LYF’s page and it seems another project she will be working with Wang Yi Bo which I am a little shocked with the unexpected pairing.

How I feel as well. I think Minister Xiao might be the good guy and GQF is colluding with Lei Jing.

She was an entertainer who played music for their guests. It did not involve sexual services.

I like the mix up of seriousness and comedy to lighten the mood.

Pan’er used to be from an official family until her father was found to be a “corrupt” (as they may have been framed) official. I’m hoping if they are framed then Pan’er can get back her former status and she may well also come from a high ranking official family and would be able to match the ML in terms of status.
