I love this drama, it explores the dynamics of a relationship, where loves can fade with time.

I actually like the part where Math prof having witty conversation with FL. They should be together instead, both talk in same wavelength.

I skipped most of the office drama part but Episode 8 is exiting to watch as it dwells on the dynamic of a long-term relationship where the FL lost that 'romantic' feeling toward her partner, to the stage where they have almost zero sxx life. However, she stays on as being with ML is like part of her family. This can happened in real life too. The ending probably both of them will stay on, typical Kdrama story, though I prefer the other way round option.

I like episode 8 too. This drama is looking into realistic relationship complications, after being together for so long. Love dynamics change with time. That is reality.
I too can't stand the so called comedy of 30 something-years-olds acting like teenagers.

I agree with on this. The fact that there's no scene showing LanXiang's grief over his death reflect the director's pov that she's not deeply in-love with him. She cried when her family and her adopted mom passed away.

I beg to differ. She didn't know he's going to die, so that phrase does not jive with your interpretation that she doesn't want to go thru pain of losing him again.

Omg, I didn't know both Tang Song Yun and Liu Xue Yi can sing (only knew after I read comment here) !! I love both songs, the one when Lan Xiang's mom on her last conversation with her in episode 46, and the one by XueYi "Flowers Bloom Along The Courtyard Walls".
Songs that can bring tears to my eyes are indeed powerful songs.
Chinese actor/actress are really multi-talented, aren't they!!

I like the song played when LanXiang's mom dying... my tears rolled down😭 especially at the line. "the journey home always carries joy and sorrow, people gather, then part" 😭😭. It remind me of my late mom who passed away during covid and I could not go back to pay my last respect due to my country nationwide movement restriction. 😭

When JingQi told LanXiang that he wished they would be still husband and wife in next life, LanXiang said just 1 lifetime is enough.. subtle implying that she does not wish to have the same in her next life. My interpretation is that LX is not romantically in-love with JQ, not as deep as her husband towards her.

Tears rolling watching the scene LanXiang's mom on her last breadth said she'd be leaving to meet her own bio daughter LangXiang soon.. 😭😭😭

Oh.. Liu Xue Yi's expression really delivers isn't it when he's pondering himself about Lan Xiang origin background while flipping through the account book and poster? Those deep thoughtful eyes, eyebrows and his lips...everything on point 💯

the last episode is absurd. The villain talk and laugh at the same time throughout the whole episode like a madman void of emotion expression. Hate that the bossy entitled-attitude Qing Ru got her man in the end.

Didn't leave that lasting impression though I enjoyed the show that time. Hou Ming Hou's drama that I can remember vividly is Fangs of Fortune with his iconic blowing this finger act...lol.
I started watching Chinese Drama since 2020 and so far, I have watched about 234 dramas (99.9% were non-modern genre). Rank #1 until now is Nirvana In Fire. 10/10 my rating.
