yeah, I thought the same thing, but since there's supposed to be so much money made by these, I thought, maybe? I read an article that they can film a short length series in 7 to 10 days with a budget of less than 500,000 yuan and rake in tens of millions online. I don't know if the actors get any "royalties" like in the States, so thought maybe that would be an incentive? Thanks for the confirmation!
