Can I say that this was just fun? We’ve had sweet and endearing last summer with “We Are”, so I think no-brainer fun is a good call. I am sad that is was only 12 eps, but there wasn’t more to be said. I look forward to more Oat and Boat. They are so funny.
I had a hard time at the start with a goofy Earth. A friend suggested I watch Earth Mixx Space. That helped me relax into the characters. Earth and Mixx are both great to watch and are superb actors. I have not watched the original, so I’m ok on the remake front. I do need another season mainly to see Heng’s mom accept him and Mo. I’ll need another show to make my Mondays better.
Goodness! Didn’t know how much I needed a gentle romance right now. I love the mature nature of the leads. I really like the herbal explanations at the start of each episode. And I am so glad that in the last 7 years, C-dramas finally have better (more realistic) kissing scenes.
what’s funny is the overlap of actors. Love Storm, Love Sky, Love Sea, and Love Sand are the 4 novels in the…
The Easter egg is that in the Love Sea series, Rak is the writer of Boy Next World and they are preparing to start filming. in the BNW ep 1, Phu is reading Love Sea on the couch. I love world building.
I can't explain how well executed the ArmArc part is. Based of the novel, both the actors did such a great job.…
So true! I really like Force’s version of Arc. And they’ve kindly left out the more toxic behaviors of the storyline for the drama. Now on to the second book set! Trying to decide if I should read the third before or after they get to that couple. I also agree that Force and Book are much more experienced and comfortable in their acting.
Has anyone asked Gunsmile how it felt to play Boss in 2024 versus Film in 2014? I love these things in a remake. I hope it means that as an actor he is happy to see the new generation of actors take on these roles. I can tell there are a lot of actors I’ll see as they get older.
I have not looked in the last couple of weeks, but do we have English subtitles yet on YouTube? I’m not the kind of person that says everything has to be in English, but I’ve reached my capacity for learning Asian languages with Korean and Mandarin. I don’t have the bandwidth to learn Thai 😅. Thanks!
Thank you to an earlier poster that recommended reading the novel if the ending doesn’t make sense (it really doesn’t.) The book does tell you why Yai showing up in the house at the end is the perfect ending. I found the English translation on Amazon if anyone is looking. I feel much better about this one now. Still made me cry too much though.
I have enjoyed this summer’s BL offerings. There have been some great stories and actors on the screen. This one I believe is Mame’s best one yet. I liked her earlier ones, but this one was a perfect summer adult rom-com. Like the book you take to the beach and pick it up in the winter to remember how the summer went. Peat and Fort are a great pair and are only getting better with age. My new favorite pair is Chanda and Aya. I wish we had seen a little more of the development in their relationship, but this show was not about them. Also, Nina (Meena) is one to watch over the next few years. She’s so good!
I judge a show based on ending (this one had a satisfying one), actors (Peat and Fort, I think we are good there), story (yep, liked this one), and at least one memorable scene. Mine will always be Mahasamut double-checking that he can do what he wants before knocking the stuffing out of the dad. I will give this one full marks because I know that I will watch it again when I need an escape.
copypasting from uncut version:I was VERY disappointed with 12th episode since it ruined the whole experience…
The finale is confusing and not satisfying at all. Thanks for the comment about the novel. Maybe that will make it better. A S2 would be interesting, but I would have taken a special episode at least.
I also agree that Force and Book are much more experienced and comfortable in their acting.
