I loved It!!!! It really was like I thought at the beginning an hommage to the movie "Meet Joe Black". I did found 1 think at the end that was illogical though. But it is a fantasy. You can set your own rules in a fantasy. Then you can break them in the next minute in the most irrational way if you wish so too. Why? Because it is a fantasy! lol Anyway I saw some part on Netflix and wasn't satisfied about how the subs were not as faithfull then other free streaming sites. I like when the subbers translate in a way that you get to open a little window into the cultural aspect of the country by the use of specific language. For example, in Korea (like in france btw) they write the familly name then the first name and often call people that way too. But they kept subbing the first name only or first name then familly name. When Kang Ha Ram was calling Han Moo Gan "Joon Oppa" they subbed it as "Joon" only. Actually they never subbed any of the honorifics that people used on their counterparse. It's too bad because it gave you a clearer idea of the dynamics and relationships between the characters. People who never watched k-drama won't understand how incredibly rude was Han Moo Gan aka the reaper. Because he never used honorifics and used informal speech with anyone while addressing people. From his point of view he was at the top of the hierarchy LOL. Unfortunatly it wasn't been translated over the subbed so that important part of his character and culture dissonance won't come across for the Netflix viewer. I watched a lot of different asian drama in the past years and learn a lot about the cultural interaction from different asian countries through the language. I think the volunteers at Viki are the best in using the right words that will carry across the cultural aspect of a language in a drama to its viewer. Even if the drama itself is pure fiction.
I found the ending a bit curt, they could have developped the former nurse story a bit more and also the dynamic between them after findind out more about the lead birth and condition, but all in all it was good.
They both died in the end, in the original version.
I just finished watching the 2002 version this morning. I hope they change that on the remake. Or if they have to die let them have at least some 20 years together b4 they killed them, please.
How timely. I watched the BBC interview of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle annoncing their royal engagement just this morning LOL. She's living "Suits" to become a princess but South-Korea will provide with another take on the series as a consolation LOL
Sin Se Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope it will be as awesome that the Kdrama. They don't have the choice anyway. You've GOT to be awesomely well equiped if you got the balls to take on Ji Sung portraying of Cha Do Hyun 7 personalities. I am expecting awesomeness and no less! Don't spoiled one of my fav drama. Amen.
TT About 3 years ago, I started watching dorama, than Kdrama, taiwanese than c-drama, than lakorns and even Turkish drama. But C-drama are the one coming out in buck loads and there's not enought people outhere to sub them all. I know I am soon reaching my breacking point. I'll have to take matters in my own hands and learn bleeding mandarin!!!
It looks hilarious :) I sent a request on Viki :) Looks like they find anotherway to counteract the ban via webdrama. Good for them, great for us hihihihi!
I recently finished Lost Love in Times, it was great with happy ending for all good characters and it's fantasy…
What BOF stand for? If one is the remake it would be "Scarlet Heart" as it aired after "Palace". But the 2 are an adaptation of the novel "Bu Bu Jin Xin". Probably 2 different productions decided to do it at the same time, as it often happened anywhere in the film and tv industry lol
