me too, i like the classic formula of course, but i also like something different from time to time.

honestly i'm more scared for Han Lu at the moment. the drama has 3 sections, two sections already explored the death realm.

btw, the actor playing Geo ge, who's also in Zelia's crew, explained the episode and we got it

i send you an actual hug (it'll arrive to you through the stars). and you're right, when you get so entangled with a fictional story that it feels yours then you know the show it's not just good, it' a masterpiece, it's art (art it's supposed to bring out your feelings, whatever they are, to communicate a vision non to make you feel confortable)

many are really young and like bls as a way to escape reality on one side, on the other side to feel and experience feelings in a controlled environment by proxy (the land of dreams). that's in my opinion way they resist when reality crushes in. see how many are respoinding to the last episode? (i don't know if you watched it yet). also some approached this drama as a classic bl, which is not, so they came looking for that familiar feeling and they're disappointed they can't find it

i don't think she is. she's telling a story in her own way. it's not meant to make you feel confortable,but to convey a message. i need to see the rest to understand what message is going to be (so far it's life happens despite us, death is a stage we all return to nature as we're part of it. this and buddhist stuff)

this whole episode, the way Zelia chose to tell us about this specific character makes me think she herself is processing an inexplicable loss of someone close. her touch is almost delicate, fairitale like. it feels like a story told by someone who's trying to overcome this grief, you can feel it from the words she put in the other characters mouth, he's part of nature now, the god of the mountain and in the end he is the stars in the sky. it reminded me of a roman inscription on a gravestone (of a 13 yo girl) "you're with the Earth, the Earth is a goddess, you're a goddess"

also death by animal would be to unnecessary and this is not that kind of show, everything happen with a purpose not just for the sake of angst. Zelia left us a clear message and it's up to us to interpret

there's a detail that keep coming to my mind and people hardly noticed. how after Tian disappear we shift in a ghost folk story. we step into the realm of death from the start of the episode (the gate to the underworld), then when Tian suddenly disappear in the mountain the myst raises, we hear whispers the music is eerie, like in those stories when the dead beloved comes back but has sadly to go back to the underworld as the sun raises. am i overthinking? 😂
on another level i think Tian represent depression. depression is a sneaky monster, very often even those close to us can't detect it. so everything looks fine on the surface untill it's too late
