For those reading the comments section to decide if you want to start this... Just tell yourself this is not a serious case-breaking drama, it's a typical romance cdrama. In other words, the plot mainly serves as a device to bring the main CP together.

Keeping what I said above in mind, you'd want to overlook the logic holes. Then like me you might actually come to enjoy the main CP's relationship. I thought they had chemistry and I loved their 小互动 ("small"/casual interactions), which felt very natural. I also enjoyed watching some of the supporting actors like Bei Le who played ML's 2nd-in-command, Qin Yue. I thought he totally nailed the veteran beat cop vibe.

I'm glad he took a risk on a more diverse role.
I agree!

IMHO it would have been more satisfying if the show ended on ep 22. While like most people I love a good HE, I felt the story didn't need the last 2 episodes for the ML's redemption arc and that last ditch attempt by the 2FL to turn back the clock.

On a side note, it was nice to see Xing Zhao Lin break out of the usual idol rom-coms; I hope we'll have more opportunities like this to see him in other genres!

I just had to leave a comment after reading the comments here! I'm so glad to find my tribe here on MDL - people like all of you who are enjoying this series as much as I am! I had this on my plan-to-watch before it aired, but almost didn't start this because I saw a less than favorable review by a popular YouTube reviewer (I shall not mention names!).

I'm a little behind watching this but only because I'm pacing myself - I don't think I could wait for each new episode to air, plus I feel like I might miss this once it ends! :D
On As Beautiful as You Aug 13, 2024
This was a CP I would never have imagined seeing in a drama together, but somehow they work! Plot-wise it reminded me of Rising With The Wind, so it was somewhat predictable. But I stayed for the chemistry between ML and FL! (The 2nd lead couple were cute too. But I just could not quite muster enough affection for the 3rd lead couple, even if they didn't do anything wrong strictly speaking.)
On Lovely Runner Jun 11, 2024
Like how one might savor a favorite dessert, I deliberately took my time with this one! This was a nice blend of rom(mance) and com(edy) - there were more than a couple of laugh-out-loud moments for me! I loved the lead couple's chemistry, so I'm glad the production gave them and their romance lots of screen time, keeping the angst/melodrama to a minimum. I did think that maybe how they ended the antagonist's story line was a little anti-climatic BUT having said this, I was glad to see him go, so I'm not really complaining here! Oh and I also had second lead syndrome with this one - as much as I loved Seon Jae, I also felt sorry for Tae Song!

Sigh, I already miss seeing this on my "currently watching" list! :')
On Will Love in Spring Jun 1, 2024
Started watching this in part because I like the actors that played the FL and ML, after having seen their other pieces of work. I'm glad Li Xian has broken away from idol dramas like Go Go Squid - I really enjoy watching him playing characters like Chen Mai Dong and Xie Zhi Yao (Meet Yourself). I really liked Zhou Yu Tong as Zhao Jian (Young Blood 1 & 2).

Overall, I enjoyed the show. Even though I have to confess I started to find Zhuang Jie a little annoying . Yes, I get that she's gone through a lot, but her dramatic about-faces were giving both me and the ML whiplash. The ML's obviously a better man that I would have been, since I'd probably have walked away from her and never looked back!

I was unexpectedly hooked on this. And if I were to analyze why, I think it boiled down to the tight pacing that had me vacillating between "all hope is lost and "all is not lost". Just as I thought "this is it, FL's got this in the bag!", the antagonist one-ups her. And of course, I HAD TO watch till the end to root for the FL and her ragtag group that had banded around her.

I agreed with some of the other comments here about how the show's more than just about bullying - another factor that drew me into the story.

I liked the ending up to the point where it left open the possibility of a sequel. I'm just naturally skeptical about sequels living up the expectations set by the original series.

If you like Zhang Chao, I suggest you to watch Hikaru no Go (2020). He's the main lead in it and he was brilliant.
Ooh thanks for the recommend! I think I have it on my PTW list but hadn't planned on starting it - I'm moving this up my priority list now! :)

I was waiting for this to finish.. but after 2 months I just couldn't take it anymore and started this. The casting…
Nice to see you here~ I was wondering if this was worth the watch... Given your comments, I'm gonna give this a shot!

Don't watch this drama for Medical refrence because it's mostly fantasy ,, there is no Virtual reality for surgeries…
Yup agree! That's how I finished the show - I loved the bromance!
On Live Surgery Room Apr 28, 2024
Not gonna lie, started watching this for Vin Zhang, and I kept watching for the bromance between him and Dai Xu. But to be honest, you need to suspend belief to watch this or risk dropping it - there's too much to pick on if I were to engage my brain while watching this. If you're looking for a more realistic medical-themed cdrama, watch "The Heart" (问心) instead.
On Step by Step Love Apr 27, 2024
Okay I have to admit this was my guilty pleasure... there's not much to shout about when it comes to this show, BUT if you need the occasional no-brainer sweet treat then add this to your plan-to-watch list. Also, I have to add I'm glad Zhao Zhi Wei got to do this show - he was THE character-to-hate in Lighter and Princess, so it was a refreshing change for me to see the 帅气 (suave) side of him in this show!
On Fry Me to the Moon Apr 24, 2024
I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. It felt very slice of life, even though it's not (it was a little more melodrama than a typical slice of life). I LOVED the Zhang Chao in this haha... there's just something about his vibe, and the fact that I thought he played the character convincingly. I don't know him from his previous works, but this will make me keep an eye out for his future works.

By the way if anyone is still wondering if the title is a bad translation, like someone else said in an earlier comment, this is a play on words - this show revolves around the business of running a Chinese restaurant, and there are multiple scenes of stir-fried dishes being cooked up in the kitchens.
On Rinko-san Wants to Try Apr 24, 2024
I took so long to watch this because the clips floating around on YouTube made me think this was a shallow show focusing on bedroom action. However, like the other comments below have noted, this was actually quite a sweet story, and I liked the chemistry between the ML & FL. So, like me you've been thinking about whether you shld start this, I say give it a shot - it's short and a good enough watch that it is unlikely you'd feel this was a waste of time.

ML turn 18 in the series how about the FL what is her age in the series? she is not in her 30's right ? maybe…
I think she was 30 (I checked other comments and they said the same so should be about there). Tbh the age gap was a turn-off for me initially, and the first half of the show didn't help with the "ick" factor. But once you get past that, and if you don't mind a bit of melodrama in the 2nd half, last few episodes would make it worth your watch.
chillingindoors Apr 5, 2024
This was the list I always wanted but never knew I needed, thank you for making and for keeping it updated @chillingindoors! For some reason, it's so hard to find good jdramas the usual way on MDL (e.g. by filtering for genres or by ratings). I usually end up finding good ones by accident, usually from comments left by MDLers like you on the pages of the shows I happen to watch.

I'm gonna get started on this list now! :)

P.S. I LOVED Silent btw - I liked Meguro Ren so much in this that I ended up watching him in As Long As We Both Shall Live too. I enjoyed that movie as well! :)
On Lesson in Love Mar 30, 2024
The plot twist, how the show tied up the loose ends, and the ending came together to make this a satisfactory watch. It was worth enduring the 狗血 (melodrama) and the toxic mom (she sorta redeemed herself towards the end).

In particular, I loved the show's treatment of relationships - from the friendships between the ML and his friends, and to the different couples' relationships (the 2 sets of moms and dads). The key message to me was - relationships are are much more layered and complex than bystanders would ever be able to discern.
