I think it would be better to adapt the REAL "Seven Heroes and Five Gallants". This is the adaptation of an adaptation. It seems they lost on the way lots of characters and so it's the usual "two ML and a FL against the evil". Pity. I'll go on watching hoping it gets better, but for now it's the usual wuxia, acted in the usual way.

Three Heroes and Five Gallants was very different, most of all a choral (the Five Rats) drama. It was dramatic, but also funny. This drama is quite dark. I did love Yan Yikuan (the Imperial Cat) and Chen Xiao (the egocentric Sleek Rat). I would like Yang Yang having a little of the playfulness of Yan Yikuan in that character. Yang Yang plays the hero always in the same way, like all the burdens of the world are on his shoulders. Be more relaxed Yang Yang, we all love you!

I've just watched the first 3 episodes and, for now, it's quite dark, boring and a little confused. Let's hope it gets better.

Because many people don't like the new cast. Actually it was quite impossible to cast the old ones because too old (Foundation Princess Agents?) A jump in a iced lake and 9 years are passed? No way.

Actually Joy of Life 2 two got 7.2 on Douban while season 1 got 7.9. The same for Nirvana in Fire 2.

The nearest the better. Don't make the mistake of wainting for ages as in Princess Agents. We cannot affort brutal changes in casting.

The so-called "embrace" of Netizens is always deadly: if they love you, your life is ended by fuss and harassment. You JUST cannot live. If they hate you... the same. The only difference is success bring you money (till the public find out/fabricate some so-called scandal about you). I do love so much dramas but I'm so very tired of this situation. Actually, dramas world looks more like a demolition show. I'm disgusted.

Maybe the storytelling is EXACTLY what has to be because this time it's written (without changes made to avoid plagiarism) by the author herself, Let's see her vision. You noticed camera work was lacking in PA. Anyway 58 episodes of PA angainst 8 or 9 of Rebirth make hard to judge the latter.

May I remind PA was just a 5.5 on Duoban? And not just for the plagiarism problem, but for many quality problems more noticeables nowadays which were already there in the past. I understand a nostalgic love for it, even it wasn't a favorite of mine, but I think this cast is very good. Let's them doing their job.

It would be better, but I see there's a good recap on episode one. I think it may be enough.

Her senses are not human, she cannot see colours, but she sees the wind and so on. What she wishes is trying our kind of senses. I don't know where you are watching it, on Viki it looks quite clear in the first episode.
