I think it comes down to preference...I just got wrapped up with episode 1 and I like it so far. It's not great,…
See? It's that preference coming into play again.
You dropped Reset, but I'm currently obsessed and it's going down as 1 of my top-five BLs watched. It's of course over the top but it's a Lakorn so that's to be expected. The main actors are also so good that I find myself watching their micro expressions.
As for as ABO desire, I completely agree that their makeup is heavy handed and that the acting isn't up to par with what I'm looking for. The concept of an Omega verse, I think, may also present a challenge to pull from the pages and bring it to life since it's not rooted in reality. It can be done right but it's going to require a lot of different moving parts coming together seamlessly to pull it off.
However, I personally wouldn't say it's terrible...I've been in this game so long I know what terrible looks like and it's not this. Think Oh my sunshine night, Check Out, and Fahlanruk.
Any who, if you've gone through 3 episodes and you're not liking it, I think it's okay to drop it. Lord knows I've dropped some after just the first 10 minutes!
Do people really find this good?? I watched 3 episodes and found it below average. The script feels superficial…
I think it comes down to preference...I just got wrapped up with episode 1 and I like it so far. It's not great, it's good and that's fine for me.
I'm not one to give praise where it isn't due and there are quite a few BLs that seem to be popular with others that I'm just not a fan off. For example, I thought KinnPorsche was just so-so and I agree that Revenged Love is good, but not that good for all the frenzied hype. But that's just my personal opinion and it has to do with what I'm looking for in BLs.
I'm looking for True blue romance and I'm currently only getting that from "Reset". I'm still here for a good time and hopefully this will stick the landing as it progresses.
I just finished episode 1, and you know what? I'm quite liking the pacing and how things are unfolding. From the reality building to how the relationships are developing (and will ultimately unfold).
A lot of BLs want things to happen quickly...from meeting to ending up together...something is always happening and it feels like you never get to see a lot of characters in their element/day to day (looking at you Thai BLs π)
Here, I appreciated even the little things like Gao Tu going to the convenience store, and even him struggling down those steps to get to Hua Yong's place. I was also very locked in for that meeting between Sheng Shaoyou and Shen Wenlang. I almost forgot that I started watching this for the romance π€
I'm liking this so far and I'm eager to see where it goes. Welp, off to episode 2!
Yup, a young Nic Cage. Once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it. Not that I'm mad at it, I had a not so secret crush on young Nic...He was eccentric even back then!
Where are you my Tada?! If we're ever going to be together in this lifetime you need to hurry your ass up! I can't throw that thang back when I'm 70 π₯Ί
EP 5: When Armin said "I am yours, Tada", that symbolized 2 things for me:
1) Reassurance - With Armin & Charlie's past, the falling out after Tada showed up at Charlie's studio, and Tada distancing himself from Armin, I think Armin saying that was his way to telling Tada that he didn't have to worry about Charlie (or anyone else for that matter). There was no competition...just him, just Tada.
2) Gift giving - Tada's a billionaire with unlimited resources to give Armin almost anything he wants. He's also showed Armin time and time again that he's willing to show up and be there for him. In contrast, up until a little while ago, Armin was a struggling no-name actor (with not much to his name, I assume). So I think he'd want to give the only thing he can give to Tada, the one thing Tada desires most...himself (heart and body).
I'm a hopeless romantic and I've found myself reading into a lot of the small things that happen and are said in this drama. I've also been a BL fan since the Takumi-Kun days, so I've consumed my fair share of content where this genre is concerned. I've always just watched and moved on, but not with Reset. This drama is giving me the same feeling that reading old paperback romance novels after high school used to....little knots in the pit of my stomach that curl my toes and makes my heart race!
All I could think about at the end of episode 5 was "You see that Charlie? That's what you lost out on? You see that?!?!"
Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for my man Tada, but I still hate it when people ruin a good thing by being idiots...looking at you Charlie π
PS: Armin looks absolutely happy and content when he's with Tada and it just makes my stomach do those silly little somersaults...or that could just be indigestion π€·
I ain't mad at it. In fact, I respect the hell out of Hua Yong's duality and the long game he's playing π€£π€£

Also, is it me or is Armin totally glowing? That vitamin T is doing wonders for his skin!

Seriously, I need Tada for myself and Armin's in the way π

Thanks for making my day! It's been a while since I've got a good laugh, especially from a MDL comment section.
Each strand a hymn, a most perfect design
Surely no mortal brows could be more perfect than thine
