I'm just gonna say it, I liked Thiwthit. Aside from Tada's love for Armin, the only other certainty in this series was that Thiwthit would make me laugh. Was he an obstacle? Yes. But he was a funny obstacle. Like something I would sweep to the side with my feet while dying of laughter.
I know a lot of viewers didn't take to him, but I like to think that Bom's portrayal was meant to be exaggerated and he always made me laugh when he was on screen. He was so cartoonish and ridiculous that I couldn't take him seriously for one moment. The moment I realized that Reset was never meant to be a whodunit, I relaxed and allowed myself to enjoy the character. I even felt a bit bad for him know that he went this far simply because of unrequited love...for his stepbrother no less!
Thank you Bom and I'll support your next project 🥰
I never watch the next prince but really the love scenes in reset is so beautifully shot that it's full of love…
Glad to found you too because I also had to stop reading the novel to treasure the magical feeling I got from the drama. I found the novel to be quite different as well, but logical Armin didn't do it for me and I couldn't quite feel the same intensity in his desire to be with Tada like I do from the series. However, someone had said that we had to take into account how much more together he is in the novel and how that would definitely affect how he expresses his love for Tada. So I'm thinking I'll give it another go after the series wraps up. I know I'll be experiencing withdrawal after the last episode so it will be a great way to fill that void!
One thing I also really liked about this is how masculine Armin looks....not that I don't like more softer looking men, but I always prefer more masculine looking leads. Sure, Armin's look has softened a bit as the series progressed, but he still has that air about him. I also like how submissive he looks in the scenes where he just gives himself over to Tada...he always appears softer here and I love it! It could just be me reading too much into it or it could be as Pond, the director, and the rest of the team had intended for it to be portrayed 🤷♀️

Exactly this! I feel like I should be saying "pardon the intrusion" everytime I watch the love scenes between Armin & Tada. Their scenes feel so intimate and natural, it's like I'm seeing a private moment I have no business seeing.
I especially love their scene in episode 6 where, after they're done making love, they're just lying there with their fingers interlocked, followed by Tada tenderly kissing Armin. To me, that final kiss always felt like Tada saying "thank you"...thank you for giving me your first time (with Armin always being a top and all), thank you for giving me you, just thank you. Ugh! I feel so warm and fuzzy whenever I think about it!
Not yet but I have it saved to read after this wraps up in October. I like the suspense of not really knowing where things are headed so I'm holding off on reading the novel.
Side note: Hua Yong better be holding him with silk. Seeing how Shaoyou cares for him, I need him to handle my boy right!
I ran here immediately after watching the so called lovemaking scene in the last episode The Next Prince. This is my safe space and their lack of romance can't find me here...it can't hurt me 😭
PS: Don't get me wrong, Khanin and Charan are hot (when they're not boring me to death)...but I was looking for romance, palpable chemistry, and to feel butterflies, not get my fandango wet 😩
I noticed that apparently many people weren't finding romance in others BL.
Absolutely! I've said it before and I'll say it again, reset feels like "grown folks business." I also think that's one of the reasons it's not more hyped.
I've come across a few comments saying they were dropping it because there wasn't much happening and they found it to be slow. This got me thinking and I realised that it was never about trying to find out who killed Armin, it was about two people who were meant to be together finally finding their way to each other and watching the process of how that unfolds. How that doesn't get people to lock in, I'll never understand...but to each his own.
I also like what you said about wanting more of the soft, simple, and everyday because what scene with Armin and Tada in the car at episode 9 and Tada telling him not to read without glasses just felt so simple and real to me. It's the little things that cements this series for me! I especially loved that there were no side couples and we could focus on watching their love unfold. Don't get me started on the 10, 15, 20 side couples that we always have to keep track of and their constant interference in the developing relationship of the main couple 🙄
The comments below are seriously making me tear up, knowing we only have one more episode left with Armin and…
Couldn't agree more! Every time I watch reset, I can't help but think "this is grown people business".
It isn't a cutesy drama that panders. Instead, it appeals to that all too human part of us that wants to love and be loved. I don't even consider it BL tbh.
Where are all the people who were saying Tada might have been the one behind Armin's death?! 🤨
I knew my boy Khun "Green Forest" Tada would never even dream of harming a single hair on Armin's head! Seeing how devastated he was when Armin died broke me... I'm sure he feels pain even if Armin so much as breaks a nail 🤣

For me, it feels like we're getting more sexual desire than romance. I am by no means a prude and I love when we get a good, well acted, well executed NC scene but I feels like that's what a lot of the focus is on these days. If that's what the main audience wants, I understand why the focus is there but that just means that I end up skipping a lot of the series that people are eating up because that's not what I'm into.
I want to see two people seriously fall in love...and I want to witness the deep expressions of that love. I think Reset has balanced that well. It's Tada's overly grand gestures but also the small kisses he leaves on Armins arm, shoulder, temple, etc. It's Armin reaching across to take Tada's hand and thank him for helping him navigate a media storm or the look of absolute contentment Armin gets whenever he leans in and relaxes into Tada's touch as they kiss. It's Tada affirming his love repeatedly and Armin feeling reassured enough to brooch the subject of Tada meeting Narin. I could go on and on about all the things I love about Reset, but I think Pond and Pan also deserve a lot of praise for how well they've brought these characters to life and translated the emotions.
This. I've been thinking the same thing since yesterday. You've hit the proverbial nail on the head. P.S. What's…
Before we had BL as we know it today, there was a time when we had things like Sukitomo, Seven Days, Junjou Pure Heart, and Takumi-Kun. I could go back even further but these are the old ones from about 2006/2007 that really got me into BL. Of all these, Takumi-Kun was my favorite. It's about Takumi Hayama who has a fear of being touched and is confessed to by Gii (a more popular student at their all boys school).
There are 5 movies, but I usually don't think about the first installment because it was acted by a different cast and boy was the acting rough! Coming from a time when not a lot of money went into the production of BLs, there are definitely things lacking, but it tackles some serious subject matters with dignity and the actors (from part 2 onwards) did justice in bringing the characters to life. It has a special place in my heart and is one of those BLs I usually return to for comfort. If you ever have the chance to check it out, you can give it a go...it won't be like the BLs we have now but you might like it.
I'll be honest here, Reset has officially ruined other BLs for me. Before reset, I knew there was something missing from the other series (besides proper acting, that is).
Now I realize it was just the hopeless romantic in me yearning for a love story done right. When I'm watching Armin & Tada, I don't even feel like I'm watching a series with how natural their love feels. I haven't found it for myself but I believe...no, I know there are couples out there who've experienced that once in a lifetime love that makes everything else pale in comparison! I root for those nameless, faceless people with all my heart, and I find myself rooting for Armin and Tada much in the same way ❤️❤️
Side note:- The last time I was this obsessed with anything BL related was Takumi-kun. If I listen closely enough, I can still hear "Giiiii" echoing from the past to find me in the present with how much I re-watched those movies 😩

Seriously though, Pan was holding his own here and love it.
