The monk tells only the full energy of imoogi's pearl can defeat the 8ft ghost, yun gap might have acquired this info ( Or, just that imoogi can defeat him) in his research and went to bring yeori so that Kang chul also comes to the palace, and from there on plan ahead on how to use that pearl energy in defeating the ghost.

😄 I think we'll have to wait for his backstory to be shown. It is highly hinted that he was badly wronged and seeks revenge.

I think it fell through because they went to represent their theme of "illusion of normalcy" and made the girl as main antagonist whereas the real 'qualified' bomber (the son of terrorist) was sidelined.

If he was made the main 'ringmaster' (and girl being just 'helper' to kill her dad), imagine him telling them to kill the girl to defuse the bomb, it would been more impactful.

Absolutely mind blowing direction and cinematography. One of the best directed movies, I've ever watched.

Second half was a bit disappointing, particularly speaking, the antagonist set-up and execution.

The train situation was thrilling throughout the movie, beautifully executed.

1) We have been literally shown that it was just about to ascend when a child saw him in dragon form, making it an accident that he could not ascend.
(Because stopping that dragon mid-air 'intentionally' is almost impossible)

2) it was told in the beginning that for imoogi to ascend he must meditate or something for 1000 yrs that's why he was here, what are you on about?

3) he found yeori to be the perfect pure human soul, and she was a shaman, so it was a perfect choice for him to have, whom he won't hate bcuz he hate all other humans, so any other shaman is not as good as her. (Bro she literally help ghosts, whereas other exorcise them at first sight, that's how good she is, why would he take any other human)

4) No one, including Kang chul and all of us, no one wants yun gap and yeori to have love story, what are you saying.

5) My point was.... yun gap is top level scholar, he's not fool to bring yeori to fight ultimate bad ghost, he knew about Kang chul being around yeori so he might have known how strong he is and he could defeat the ghost.(Just a theory)
