Wasn't that the whole point. He went to the cliff, mourned her, yes he felt like mudeok was coming to him, but he was comforted by yeong. It was only after he woke up, he kissed her. I saw it as him embracing a new beginning. Her comforting warmed him. He is embracing her without knowing it is the same person. 😭😭😭
