I understand some people who have seen GYJ in episode 1 feeling that she didn't get the space to showcase her potential as an action heroine. But I believe we should separate the actor from the character. I like part 2 LJW but I prefer part 1 Jang Uk. I am happy that towards the end we see their happiest selves: part 1 jang uk and part 2 yeong. Plot wise it fits too, she is right now in a priestess' body with a different kind of energy, and she chooses to be her happy self. And this was not sudden. She had already let go of Naksu in the 20th episode. P. S: I don't know if you have watched My Name, but in that Han So Hee is so good as a "badass" woman but it broke me when she had to go on that killing spree towards the end when she had just started accepting love and being at peace. P. P. S: Anyway, I like the ending. Yeong and Uk were the worst affected souls and they deserve all the happiness in the world. Their story, their love, their relationship(s) will always be special to me. Always. And I don't see this as two different "seasons". It's one drama, for me. I love AoS as a whole.
It's only now that i completely understood what buyeon/seol ran told mudeok in the ice stone barrier. "This time we didn't lose it. " She has been probably trying to stop the chaos from happening even before jang uk. But she failed that time by failing to destroy the remaining ice stone. The "we" here is probably jin seolran's soul and buyeon's body. Probably she realized she had to wait for the energy of the King's star. That is why she never found her way back home. At the right time, she found Naksu who was strong enough to aid her and the King's star. Probably she also foresaw even if she destroyed the ice stone, there is all possibility for them to awaken the fire bird.
As much as I want to see bad ass Naksu, I’m satisfied with the ending because when I think about it again, Cho…
Also that badass naksu was basically full of trauma. It's only natural she doesn't want that. I love this happy Yeong. No one is happy if they gotta use their sword. Jang Uk isn't. But he got to. I am happy Yeong is by his side.
I am trying to put together all the random scenes from yesterday's episodes and the preview and the still cuts. The order i see. Them at the tree, deciding to get married, spending time together, getting married, spending the night at the hut in danhyanggeok, havind sex, parallelly, hell breaks lose at daeho, three deaths, Uk gets to know in the morning, the final battle. Whew.
I’m so worried about him now, the one time he actually did the right thing , it ended up failing 😭 I hope…
I don't think they can kill him coz in front of the citizens he is the King's star. For peace they need to atlest have him as a cover. Plus he is the present King's son. But i will have to see him shattered tonight 🥺
Everytime people think that there is a bump in the storyline, they jump in to say that the actors deserved better. It is applicable to the whole cast. But specifically talking with respect to lee jae wook, to say that he deserved better is to actually disrespect everything that AoS has given him. I am an ardent fan of him and I believe Jang Uk is the best that he could have got at this point of his career. Not everyone gets a chance like this. I will always be thankful to the creators for this. The actors and the drama have a symbiotic relationship. The actors are the face of the drama and they always get more praise and popuarity. It's actually sad that we don't appreciate the background factors that make up a star and take them for granted.
I think Jang Uk is a great character and he stayed consistent through and through.
To say this would be to disrespect everything that AoS has given lee jae wook. I am an ardent fan of lee jae wook and I believe Jang Uk is the best character he could have received at this point in his career. Not everyone gets a chance close to this. So I will always love the creators for that. The actors and the drama, it is a give and take relationship. So I respectfully disagree.
P. S: I don't know if you have watched My Name, but in that Han So Hee is so good as a "badass" woman but it broke me when she had to go on that killing spree towards the end when she had just started accepting love and being at peace.

And Uk and and go won's combination scenes always have my heart.
