I gave this a 5/10 and that's being generous in my opinion. It's so entertaingly terrible in every way. Just awful...and I will be rewatching it soon. Love it. LOL
Edit: If you're confused and wondering if you should watch I'll put it this way...if you don't like camp as a genre (i.e. it's so bad that it's good/entertaining) then this is NOT for you. If you do then pop some popcorn and prepare to literally laugh out loud.
I would be surprised if Netflix, a company established in the USA, canceled these productions because he did drugs. Especially marijuana. Marijuana is still illegal in many states in the USA, but Netflix still wouldn't cancel a production because an American actor smoked or consumed marijuana.
I know there's a huge cultural difference, but again...Netflix is not a South Korean company and Netflix doesn't really stand on any moral high ground. They spent money on production and they'll do whatever they can to make that money back.
I agree with another comment made here...if Netflix does anything at all they will likely release everything as scheduled and geo-block it in South Korea. But I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.
All issues with the drama are continued here. So I wont go into that further.
But the audio/sound must be noted. It's atrocious and very distracting. There's even a section with no sound. Like it just cut off completely and awkwardly resumes 30 seconds later. And based on the sound issues thus far I can't imagine it was intentional. The fact that the audio is even worse here than the entire drama is impressive. I'm convinced even people fluent in Thai would need subtitles. I'm not even sure how translations were possible.
This was bad from both the story and technical/production standpoint. The story is terrible/absent but the audio is ridiculous and gets progressively worse. To release this drama with that level of sound quality is unacceptable.
This was easily the most adorable thing I've seen in a very long time. Also, it sends an important message about the perspective of people with disabilities. Wonderful short film.
I agree with some of the other comments. This was just ok. Not terrible but certainly not good. The main couple's relationship was not convincing. All the characters were kind of mediocre and uninteresting. Woojin was the most vibrant to me even though I didn't like that character.
The best parts are anytime Seungheon is on screen (not just love scenes), because for whatever reason he is ridiculously handsome in this movie. Like more than he usually is. Maybe it's the uniform that adds to it. I don't know but he is a treat for the eyes.
I just don't understand why the king thought this was a good idea to begin with? Why pick Hong Rim to do that? What did he think was going to happen? Did he seriously think it was going to be happily ever after? His thought process is baffling.
I remember watching this. It was like a fever dream. Easily one of the most ridiculous dramas I've ever watched. It's absolutely terrible but still highly entertaining when you have insomnia at 3am and can't sleep (me lol). Recommended for those that like trashy comedy dramas.
Even if a drama is bad I'll like it if it's still entertaining (i.e. it's so bad that it's good and unintentionally hilarious). But this is legit boring. It actually makes me sleepy and I watch it close to the time I need to sleep. I'm watching it to help me sleep and so I'll have context for the special episode at this point.
My favorite thing so far has been the product placement 51 minutes into episode 7. I would actually buy those noodles and it would be convenient at work. It would be easy to eat anywhere! But it's not sold in my country unfortunately. The fact that this is what caught my attention the most so far is ridiculous lol.
Just finished episode 1 and the sound quality was strange towards the middle and end of the episode. It's kind of distracting. Hopefully it's not like this in all episodes.
I love action and crime dramas so this is easily my favorite Thai BL thus far. Even though it's not perfect, it showcases the potential of Thai BLs. The entire cast and staff did an excellent job. Vegas was the most interesting character even though I liked all characters.
Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of fanservice. Bravo.
