Seeing all these comments made me realize one thing I honestly don’t understand how some people watch dramas.…
I feel like people forget that drama discussion boards are meant to be real thoughts and opinions, not just what makes them comfortable. If you can't handle someone not liking something you like because, god forbid, you might have to think deeply about why, and you wanna just live in blissful ignorance so you can consume content that makes you feel good and keeps up whatever fantasy you want to have about life and the world, then this probably isn't a good place for you to be coming to read and comment. Maybe find a few friends who think the same as you and talk to them about the drama instead of demanding the rest of us dumb down or ignore our own thoughts and feelings so that you don't have to think critically.
Some people were questioning the ML's behavior towards the "married" FL and the double standards when…
I don't see how the ML is even really being shades of grey morally? People seem to have amnesia and forget the ML was super upset when he found out she had a husband and literally hid in his house to try and end any association with her, and she is the one who did not give up until he let her stay being employed. He had this amazing one of a kind experience with her and can't just wish away the huge attachment he naturally formed for her, so he's trying his best to keep things above board while being forced to work closely with her, but then finds out (so he thinks) the husband is cheating on her, STILL tries to not get any more attached to her while she's out here flirting with him and sending him mixed signals, and then collapsing from the stress of what he thinks is her asshole husband neglecting her. He's a human being, like what is he supposed to do at this point? He's not some careless guy who has been relentlessly pursuing her. He's just exhausted trying to fight what the universe seems to be constantly pushing him towards.
I think characters being imperfect and morally grey are important for creating tension in a story. If everyone…
Totally agree. The ML thinking the 2ML is cheating is such a juicy twist and brings out so much of his internal struggle, let's enjoy this for a while before he finds out she's not actually married. That revelation is going to set up the final act of the show, so it can't come too soon.
5 eps in and 2nd FML = best character, not even close
She is controlling and has zero self respect, I don't get it. If she had confessed to him then left him alone and lived her best life knowing he'd come back to her if it was the right thing, that would have been badass. But she literally blackmailed him into spending time with her instead, how is that anything but toxic and pathetic?
I don’t know why people having second lead syndrome when the ML is way better than SML and FL deserves ML. Fandom…
So agreed. The ML is treating her like someone he loves--his actions are driven by looking out for her interests and causing her the least amount of pain. The 2ML is treating her like a possession--his actions are driven by his own need to be liked by her or "win" her for his own ego. They are on two separate sides of the spectrum.
The logic is so off.She didn’t mind taking the ML’s money, but she still thinks he wouldn’t understand her…
The show has done a good job of showing that Darim is the kind of person who doesn't like to rely on anyone because she just expects to be let down in the long run. She doesn't believe people think she is worth it, so she will go out of her way to not owe anyone anything so that if they walk away then she can look at it like a transaction and not get hurt. She immediately treated him paying the loan sharks like he was a bank she could pay back, not like the gift he meant it to be. Her character arc is learning that she is valuable for more than just making other people's lives easier, and that it's okay to rely on someone and trust them to take care of you. So it makes sense she wouldn't want to tell him and risk getting hurt at this point especially considering how inconsistently he's acted from the very beginning--seeming to love her one second and then dislike her the next. She has to learn to trust him first.
ok if she tells her , what they will do ? date ?? and she keeps working there as a married woman ?? the thing…
You're acting like he didn't spend two full episodes being furious with her and trying to force her to quit after finding out. Beyond that he is very hot and cold with her, often hiding his true feelings behind indifference (for example with the soup when she was sick). Only in the past episode has he been more obvious about it. It makes sense for her to be confused and not yet trust him enough to tell him.
Have you been paying attention? It hasn't helped anything they swapped? 😂😂😂
Name one thing. I keep seeing people saying that we are wrong but not actually saying any way it affected the plot in a way that it couldn't have otherwise? Seriously, explain it to me
We know from the start there was a body swap though... And it was extremely useful to get the plot moving... But…
How? How did it get the plot moving. I think if you actually really think about it you'll see that it didn't do anything for the plot. I'm genuinely asking you because Ic an't think of one thing it did to get the plot moving. In fact in many ways it stalled the plot completely.
predictably i did start to like this less after the soul swap. pre swap the fl's main draw was that she was fearless,…
10000000%. I was excited for the swap cause I was expecting the FL to start to take control and use the position of CP to do something the CP couldn't have done in his own body, but she just sat around crying and acting clueless. I was expecting the CP also to be able to find out something or do something he couldn't have done as the CP, but he also didn't really do much and didn't even find out she was his crown princess. Completely pointless.
Not trying to be mean but the people saying the body swap/soul exchange is not necessary and is ruining the plot...…
I'm not sure you understand what a plot is, because it's not the same as a synopsis or a trailer, it's the driving goal of the story--in this story the external plot goal is for the crown prince finding the evidence surrounding the poison bird in order to overthrow the left minister to restore order to the monarchy and bring justice to his murdered crown princess. And it is for Dal I to discover her true identity and purpose to stop running and live the life she was always meant to have. That is the point of the drama. The point is not for two people to swap bodies. The body swap COULD have been central to the plot, but it wasn't. This is why people are rightfully criticizing it.
Other than superficial hijinks and silliness, name one thing that happened in all of these episodes that would have been actually different if the scenes would have been with the two as their actual selves vs body swapped? - Did they get closer to finding the bird or taking down the minister because of the swap? No. CP was able to still move forward on their plans as Dal I, and all the important conversations with the 2nd prince that he would have had as the CP the writer just made him have as Dal I instead for no real reason. As Dal I he even walked past the bird but didn't even see it at the time. Meanwhile Dal I spent here entire time in the CPs body being completely ineffective and useless--she literally accomplished nothing that helped them in the actual plot goal, she just went around acting like a girl stuck in a CPs body. - Did they get closer to finding out that she is actually the crown princess because of the swap? No. While she got to see his dreams, for some reason he did not see anything regarding her drowning or rebirth or anything that would hint at her true identity. The only time the CP interacts with Dal I's family in Dal I's body and could have found out some secret info or something useful they immediately tell them instead that their bodies were swapped and he finds out nothing of use.
So while the body swap was fun for a bit, it didn't actually matter for the story. It didn't even matter for the love story, as they would have fallen in love regardless and could have had very similar interactions. That is the literal definition of a gimmick. Gimmicks are poor storytelling. It's fine if you liked it and were fine with it, but it is a very legitimate reason to call out the body swap as unecessary for those of us who value a well written and well executed story. Frankly you seem to have no idea what you're even arguing against.
Oh my God, Kang Tae Oh’s acting is SO bad, I swear I could cry at any moment 😭.
Really? I'm watching a diff drama I guess cause I think he is nailing all the emotional scenes and I'm totally impressed. I got chills at the end of 7.
Maybe people not liking the body switching are only complaining because it complicates the romance and makes any…
I was all for the switching at first but grew to dislike it cause I don't see how it served the story. The main plot could have been exactly the same without it. It's not made it special it's made it gimmicky
IU is on a huge roll she seems to only pick excellent scripts and dramas, BWS must have very carefully picked his follow up to Lovely Runner, plus one of THE best directors in Korea right now. I am so excited
