Am i the only one who thought jae i and hae rim were going to have a love track?? The chemistry was on point in…
So there's a rule in romantic dramas that whatever man a woman is shown meeting first is the person she will end up in a love line with. So it's important that Jae I and Hae Rim met each other first AND had a meet cute moment (the classic catching the falling girl trope). They are 1000% going to end up together. There is a lot of tension between him and Eun Jo because of their secretly shared illegitimate status but it doesn't read as sexual tension or romantic tension to me.
I just can't figure out what Hae Rim has to offer him that is going to help him accomplish whatever plot he's planning or accept his status and start to use his calculating mind for good. She's kind and does seem to have an independent spirit but I just can't get a good read on her yet.
Oh, here we go! I think the next few episodes will be good indicator for how this drama turns out. Its been really…
Sooo agree. The next two eps should be a jump in quality and we should really see the plot starting to move along since they spent two weeks setting up a ton of character AND since the body swap in the description is the central driving point of the plot. If the next weeks are fun and gimmicky but lack substance but I fear for the show
The second leads have an amazing chemistry, I hope the writers don’t waste their characters in unnecessary love…
It's an inverted love triangle trope, because it seemed at first like they were setting him up for a love triangle with Eun Jo but it after this weeks eps you see his fascination with Eun Jo is her being illegitimate like him and him needing to prove something about himself and his own identity through her. We still haven't been told exactly why 2ML doesn't want to marry the niece, there is more going on than just him not wanting to marry as secretly illegitimate. Can't quite figure out what the niece's role will be, but I hope they give her more to do.
I really like Nam Ji Hyun as an actress. There's just something about her acting that only she can pull off in…
So my read on Jae I is that his entire interest in her is that she reminds him of his own shame at also being illegitimate. I haven't gotten any actual romantic interest from him for her.
I feel like they set up the swap pretty well to actually be central to the plot instead of a gimmick like in Moon River.
Eun Jo has survived by having no pride, the prince has survived by staying out of the fight. Now we have a man who refuses to let his pride be hurt living her life, and a woman who cannot stand by and watch injustice living his. They are poised to completely upend each other's status quo, probably for worse at first but for better by the end.
We also have a prince who has always been on the right side of the law and in the public eye swapped into the body of the rebel thief being hunted for suspicion of murder and a low class woman who is invisible. And a commoner with a rebellious heart but no power swapped into one of the most powerful men in the country. Imagine all of the ways they can use that to their advantage.
That scene when she refused him also made very clear that what was keeping them from exploring any sort of relationship was how impossible it is to understand what it's like to be in the other's situation. They will be able to understand each other on a deeper level than possible by living the life of the other, which will help bridge that huge divide.
So the swap will move the romance plot AND the main plot along pretty well. I get people being nervous about such an imaginative element but at least there's good groundwork for it.
Feeling conflicted cause this is on my watchlist. I love the casting but the plotline is sort of average so far.…
Yeah I feel the same. But man shows that end up being my favorite follow a similar pattern where the first 4 eps are interesting but feel a little slow or like something just isn't quite fully clicking only for them to end up being amazing by the end and I see how important those first eps were for setting up the characters and plot. (Twinkling Watermelon and Chicago typewriter, come to mind.) So I'm hoping this is the latter, because they really have spent a lot of time on setting up the various characters and their backstories
I love the idea of this pairing, both of them are great actors, and I could see them having really good chemistry. Oh Yeon Seo esp is one of the best comedic actresses out there, period. I'm glad I didn't read the manwha first cause I can come in and just enjoy the story for what it is lol
This went from 8.3 rating to 8 in a few hours. People are already downrating this with barely two episodes out.…
If I watch the first couple eps of a show and decide not to continue with it it doesn't even cross my mind to go and give it a bad rating even if I think it wasn't that great, I just assume it's not my style. I only give a bad rating when I've finished a show and thought it wasn't good by the end, or got at least halfway and it just completely went off the rails.
I also don't understand people giving a show 1 star. That means it wasn't just not good it means it was literally one of the worst k dramas ever produced in the history of k dramas. IT's so dumb.
am i the only one who felt annoyed by the se-jin character? like why would u blame someone else just because the…
Man, she's actually such a relatable character and people disliking her shows how much women are expected to make everyone else comfortable rather than be allowed to have complicated feelings. Yeah it's petty to hate him when it's not really his fault, but when you're the powerless daughter of parents who put extreme pressure on you and don't really care about your feelings I think it's pretty human to find someone to be angry at who you know can handle it and who will actually care that you are mad.
He's the one who keeps seeking her out and he's the one who gave her his number and told her to tell him when she's mad at him. She isn't actively seeking him out to say she hates him or harm him, she is just being real with herself and him by acknowledging she feels a petty dislike of him instead of putting on a fake nice girl persona she doesn't feel and pretending she likes someone she doesn't.
She also apologized for bringing up his parents in class. And she was actually spot on for pointing out that he was trying to one up her by saying she shouldn't be upset because at least she has parents. I like her and think she's good for han gyeol, esp because he is the type to act like he's fine and likes everyone when he's not and he doesn't, while she is the exact opposite.
I became a kdrama fan last year. I was never a big fan of romance stories and for now, the majority of kdramas…
I'm also pleasantly surprised by this show! It has a very unconventional ML for a romance drama, and the absurdity helps take the edge off any of the romance tropes. So I can see why it appeals to someone who isn't a fan of the genre usually.
I loved that you could see Jae Gyu's influence on Han Gyul in the way he treats Se Jin, like he has some of the same noble traits and views people in the same straightforward and kind way.
The lawyer is so funny. He acts like such a bad ass but he's actually so harmless, I feel like he's not going to actually do that much actual damage in his revenge plot and is gonna end up besties with Jae Gyu in the end.
im sorry who are these idiots rating this comedic relief of a show so low! imbeciles
Idk what's going on with MDL ratings lately. I started watching this show cause I came here and literally every single comment said the first eps were great and everyone was loving it. Same with another show that just started and everyone was raving about it and I did not see one negative comment posted about it yet it also had a low rating like this.
This show is sooo fun but has just enough depth that it doesn't feel vapid. Jae Gyu is such an unconventional ML and Bo Hyun is really putting his heart and soul into portraying him, he's so colorful and weird. I've never seen Joo Bin in anything but she's a great match and I love how she is handling the comedy, her facial expressions are hilarious. I even love the cute teen couple. Excited to watch this one every week!

This review presents itself as an elevated media analysis with an interesting concept- a reviewer claims to be able to see 15 episodes into the future to give us unparalleled insight.
But the “prescient critique” angle works more as an excuse than a driving force, as the review falls back into the cliché “hate review” tropes we’ve all come to be bored to death by at this point: basing arguments on hasty generalization, making up story elements to criticize, and not realizing how much the review contradicts itself because they can’t even make sense of their own word salad.
The reviewer’s expectations for this show are almost superhuman- a classic Robin Hood story that doesn’t take time to establish the political landscape and corruption that every classic Robin Hood fights against. A show that honors the folk hero Hong Gil-dong but doesn’t have the Hong Gil-dong character use the mythical skills of Hong Gil-dong. A drama in the genre of romance, with the word romance in the title, that does not prioritize the romance. A protagonist who gets mortally injured while doing acrobatics the very first time we see them doing acrobatics so that we know for sure they aren't invincible because they can do acrobatics. A pilot episode of a historical drama that doesn’t take time to establish the status quo of the classic historical world so that the protagonist can later disrupt it, also known as the entire point of a pilot.
This review had the potential to be enlightening, but it chose hot takes over bold comprehension. If you're looking for a classic "I only watched one episode aren't I so edgy” rant, this could be okay. If you're expecting a sharp, well-informed analysis, maybe wait till the whole show actually airs for the truly insightful reviews to be posted.
