But Ding Yu Xi and Meng ZiYi is also not bad at all. All side couple are way better than our main CP in their chemistry and their backstory romance building.

You are right, a well built romance can actually make sense without any single kiss... But with this type dead fish kiss will somehow render all their chemistry useless, making the audience feel the lack of love between them when they comes close to each other.... Just take "Love of nivirna" for example; even without kisses and skinship but their chemistry was hella impressive that left something in our heart... So right now I kind of feel like their love is just fake when they are not even comfortable with each lol.
